Kael remained on one knee, still unable to fully understand what had happened. Both hands pressed against the ground, he struggled to steady his breathing as every muscle in his body ached. Every muscle in his body ached, and even lifting his head felt exhausting. The terrifying pressure that had nearly crushed him was gone, yet his body still refused to recover as quickly as he wanted.
His breathing slowly became calmer.
The black smoke that had been pouring from his body moments ago had completely disappeared.
