Chapter 234 - Chapter 233: The Importance of Managing Chakra Reserves!

Seimei focused, chose his targets, and flickered away from his spot.

The first target was one Kirigakure Chunin, who was almost dominating one of his fellow Konoha ninja. It seemed there were still a few Kirigakure ninja here.

A quick scan revealed at least 10 or so Kirigakure ninja among the forty enemy ninjas fighting them. So, he decided to target them first.

After all, even if most Konoha ninjas could overpower two Shimada clan ninja, fighting well-trained Kirigakure ninjas, who were capable of silently infiltrating the Land of Fire without raising flags, was a whole different ball game.

For the average Konoha Shinobi, the chances of prevailing against a ninja from a hidden village as bloodthirsty and extreme as Kirigakure still hovered around fifty percent.

The Land of Water was composed of several small and large islands. And Kirigakure was created on one of the largest and most treacherous islands in the nation.

It was riddled with cruel terrain, vicious chakra beasts, regular attacks from sea chakra beasts, and unfriendly weather conditions.

Ninjas raised in such a land were naturally more powerful, more merciless, and crueler.

They were survivors who had honed their combat tactics and battle instincts to the extreme.

To avoid more deaths and crippling injuries among his fellow Konoha ninjas, Seimei acted decisively.

Five Konoha ninjas had already fallen. And more were injured after this skirmish. No matter how powerful they were or how pathetic their opponents were, the Konoha ninjas were still outnumbered.

After prolonged battles and continuous stamina consumption, they were bound to feel tired and make mistakes along the way.

That was how four of the five Konoha ninjas had died.

As for the other one of the five dead Konoha ninjas?

Well, his luck was bad. The Konoha ninja was a special Jonin, but he ended up being targeted by a full-fledged Jonin from Kirigakure.

The Konoha ninja died before Seimei could even intervene.

He even created several shadow clones.

But he was just one man. But in the end, on the battlefield that was a meat grinder of lives, one person couldn't save everyone.

He had long accepted this fact.

However, he could minimize casualties on his side. And he had been doing that in this battle against the joint force of the Shimada clan ninjas and the Kiri invaders.

His shadow clones had been intervening every chance they got, deflecting fatal blows from landing on his fellow Konoha ninjas as much as possible.

And now that the major threats had been eliminated, he could go all out and end this battle for good.

With a precise use of the Body Flicker Technique, Seimei suddenly appeared behind the Kirigakure Chunin, who had just clashed his blade with one of the fellow Konoha ninja.

This greatly startled both the Kiri and the Konoha ninja. But both of them just exchanged a blow and were in the process of retracting their blades.

As a result, the Kirigakure ninja failed to react to Seimei's presence immediately.

Using this chance, Seimei formed a blue, spiraling ball of condensed chakra and slammed it at the Kiri ninja's back.

Rasengan!

The Rasengan tore through the Kiri ninja's flesh, spine, and internal organs. The violent and spiraling chakra wreaked havoc in his body, leaving a bloody, swirl-patterned hole in his chest, instantly taking his life.

The Konoha ninja just stood there, dumbfounded.

He was having a life-and-death battle with a spy from a foreign land and was prepared to sacrifice his life to take his opponent down with him.

But his opponent died too easily.

His bloody corpse was lying on the ground.

Things were so anti-climactic that his mind blanked for a moment.

But he was a veteran ninja, so he quickly recovered, nodded at Seimei in acknowledgement, and rushed in another direction to help other fellow Konoha ninjas.

Seimei looked at the battlefield and sighed again.

Then, he molded his chakra in a specific pattern, ready to cast another Ninjutsu.

Multi-Shadow Clone Technique

Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff!

Five more shadow clones appeared beside Seimei, each carrying about 20,000 units of chakra, and they flickered away to help the Konoha ninjas deal with the enemy force.

Now, there were a total of ten shadow clones of Seimei on the battlefield.

Those shadow clones should be enough. But…

Unless you put at least 20,000 points of chakra into a shadow clone, the clones could be rather…well…delicate.

One cut with a sharp object, and they would go poof.

Plus, this was a battlefield. Neither he nor his shadow clones could use powerful Ninjutsu recklessly.

It could easily lead to friendly fire that wouldn't be friendly at all.

Damn it.

Even if he wanted to end this shit with a Great Fire Annihilation or a Great Flame Flower Jutsu, he couldn't use them at all.

As for creating more than 15 shadow clones, each with 20,000 points of chakra?

Forgive him, he was still too young, and the Fuinjutsu Battle Formation gobbled up a lot of his chakra since he powered it alone.

Even if he could afford to create 15 shadow clones, each with 20,000 chakra, that would significantly drain his chakra reserves, making his chakra reserves fall below 30%, even with his recently regenerated chakra.

When the ninjas' chakra drops below 30% of their maximum capacity, they will start feeling the first signs of fatigue and stamina drain.

Once that drops below 25%, a ninja will start feeling physical and mental strain, as well as weakened perfection.

When the chakra drops below 10% of its maximum capacity, the ninjas will feel heavy fatigue. They will exhaust their physical and mental strength at a faster rate. Their strength, speed, perception, and Jutsu's power will diminish significantly.

They will feel their bodies and minds screaming at them to rest, to sleep.

At this stage, if they were involved in battle, their body would subconsciously draw more physical and mental energy from their bodies and minds to the point of depletion to supply the ninjas with more chakra to use during the life-and-death situations.

If they still managed to deplete the majority of their chakra at this stage, they would pass out.

And worse, if they overdrafted their chakra even after reaching the 0% threshold to perform a Jutsu, then that ninja would really be in danger.

At best, the ninja would lose a few years of his lifespan.

At worst, the ninja would fall into a coma. Or in extremely rare cases, they would die.

In short, never let your chakra fall below the 10% mark of your maximum chakra capacity, unless it is absolutely necessary.

Never let your chakra reserves fall below the 30% mark if you want to maintain your combat capabilities at peak all the time.

And always carry chaka restoration potions.

Seriously, carry it.

If it wasn't available, it was better to hide somewhere, rest, and recover your chakra as much as possible before engaging again. Of course, very few actually got to implement this last option.

What? You said Seimei had Otsutsuki blood, so how could his chakra deplete so fast?

Then, he could only say, "Brother, you don't know shit."

He was 11 this year, for god's sake.

And he already had more than 400,000 chakra points.

But creating 10 shadow clones, each with 20,000 chakra points, cost him 200,000 chakra points.

He fueled the Fuinjutsu Battle Formation alone, pouring nearly 50,000 chakra points.

That was 250,000 chakra points, already nearly 60% of his maximum chakra reserves.

He had been battling nonstop for the last 40 minutes, spamming Ninjutsu after Ninjutsu; many of them were B-rank or above.

If he hadn't been regenerating his chakra passively, his overall chakra reserves would have dropped below 30%.

And you are still asking for more?

What? Naruto had more chakra than him?

Bullshit!

That fucking 12-year-old child of destiny had the freaking Nine-tails inside him from day one, which influenced his physique and swelled his chakra capacity several times.

He even had passive help from the tailed beast chakra.

And even with all this, that blonde fellow created fragile shadow clones, which vanished with one slightly stronger punch.

What?

He created hundreds of shadow clones?

Seimei could, too. He could create more than 300 shadow clones, giving each of them 1,000 units of chakra, which was the average chakra capacity of an Elite civilian Genin or a low-tier civilian Chunin in Konoha.

And even after that, he would still have more than 100K chakra points.

But what good would it do? They would still be as fragile as common weeds.

And don't you dare give him the Otsutsuki bloodline shit.

Otsutsuki Kaguya had near-unlimited chakra because:

One, she had consumed the chakra fruit, which contained the DNA matrices and the converted chakra of who knew how many people who had died in the last thousands of years.

Two, she had the freaking ten-tails inside her to act as a power bank.

Otherwise, didn't you see how Otsutsuki Momoshiki, who was at least several times stronger than Kaguya in pure combat, suffered from chakra depletion in the middle while fighting the adult Naruto and Sasuke?

Well, until some random doctor came and fed him with more chakra in an attempt to blast him with numerous Ninjutsu using the Shinobi Gauntlet.

Momoshiki must have given that ignorant fellow a big thumbs-up in his heart while thinking, "Ah! Even a dumb fellow of a lowly species has his uses. You may be dumb, but you are a good person."

Soon, Seimei shook his head and set the random thoughts aside.

"Oh no! Someone is stabbing at my comrades, again."

Seimei spotted a Konoha ninja in danger and rushed to help him while grumbling internally.

Fuck! When will this end?
