Kon-Rao returned to the ship. The meditation near the sun had clarified his thoughts, helped him organize the priorities that had been swirling through his mind since the encounter with Hades and Diana.
He made his way through the corridors, acknowledging the salutes from crew members but not stopping to engage in conversation. His mind was already focused on what needed to be done, on the tasks that had been delayed while he dealt with more immediate threats.
When he reached his private cabin, he immediately moved to the digital wall board that occupied one entire side of the room. The surface was designed for planning and note-taking, capable of displaying complex diagrams and storing vast amounts of information.
Kon-Rao activated it with a gesture and began to write.
His fingers moved across the interface quickly, recording observations about his powers that he had made during the meditation session.
The way solar energy flowed through his cells, the limits he had discovered, and the potential he had sensed for further growth.
He documented the precise control he had developed over his heat vision, noting the different intensities he could achieve and how quickly he could modulate between them.
He recorded his flight capabilities, the maximum speeds he had tested, and his theories about whether those limits were genuine or simply psychological barriers he had not yet broken through.
He wrote about his senses, cataloging the ranges he had confirmed for each one. His vision could penetrate hundreds of kilometers into the Earth when he focused it properly. His hearing could detect conversations from across a city if he filtered out the background noise correctly. His sense of smell could identify individuals by their unique scent from remarkable distances.
But more importantly, he wrote about the weaknesses he had confirmed.
Magic could harm him - he had felt the pressure of Hades's divine authority even if it had not seriously injured him.
The god's hellfire had vaporized his armor even though his skin had remained intact. These were vulnerabilities that needed to be addressed through either countermeasures or simply avoiding such threats when possible.
He also noted that while his physical durability was extraordinary, it was not unlimited.
The Tetracide had not managed to harm him, but that was a creature whose strength lay primarily in its mystical properties rather than raw physical force. A sufficiently powerful physical attack could probably still injure him, especially since he had only been absorbing yellow sun radiation for a short time.
The document grew longer as he continued writing, becoming a comprehensive analysis of what it meant to be a Kryptonian under a yellow sun. This information would be invaluable not just for him, but for every Kryptonian who would eventually undergo the same transformation.
But then he wrote something else, something separate from the analysis of powers and abilities.
This was a meditation technique he had created from his experiences over the past month. It was specifically designed to address a problem he knew would affect other Kryptonians when they were first exposed to yellow sun radiation.
The technique was built around controlled breathing patterns and mental focusing exercises. It taught the practitioner how to filter sensory information, how to gradually open their awareness to enhanced perceptions rather than being overwhelmed all at once.
When a Kryptonian was first exposed to yellow sun radiation, their senses would suddenly amplify beyond anything they had experienced before. They would gain an enormous amount of information about their surroundings in an instant - every sound within kilometers, every scent on the wind, the ability to see through solid matter, the sensation of radiation bombarding them from all directions.
That sensory overload alone was enough to cause them to lose control. Kon-Rao had experienced it himself during his transformation in the chamber. The difference was that he had been prepared for it mentally, had known it was coming, and even then, it had been overwhelming.
For warriors who were not expecting the sudden influx of information, who did not have the mental framework to process it all, the experience could be incapacitating or even dangerous. They might accidentally injure themselves or others while flailing around trying to block out the sensory assault.
This meditation technique would help them gain control over their senses during that critical first exposure. It taught them how to compartmentalize the information, how to focus on one sense at a time, and how to gradually expand their awareness rather than trying to process everything simultaneously.
The technique also included exercises for managing the sudden increase in physical power. The enhanced strength could be just as dangerous as sensory overload if not properly controlled. A Kryptonian who did not know their own strength might accidentally destroy equipment, damage the ship's hull, or hurt someone they were trying to help.
Kon-Rao wrote out the full technique in detail, including specific breathing patterns, mental visualization exercises, and progressive stages for expanding awareness. It was designed to be taught over the course of several weeks, building up the practitioner's mental discipline before they ever experienced actual yellow sun exposure.
Though the actual empowerment was still going to be at least a month or two away. Jon-Sno's warriors were still completing their basic training, learning the foundational skills they would need before adding superhuman abilities to the mix. Rushing the process would be counterproductive.
Kon-Rao himself had exposed himself to the yellow sun earlier than might have been ideal because of strategic necessity.
He needed to become the anchor of the Kryptonian people, their hope in this strange new universe. He needed to be the visible symbol that their civilization would not only survive but thrive.
And it had been necessary to have a deterrent in case something unexpected happened. There were, after all, many beings on or around Earth who could challenge even an empowered Kryptonian. Gods like Hades, or Asgardians, mystical entities like the Sorcerer Supreme, beings whose power operated on principles he barely understood.
If any of them decided to attack the Kryptonian refugees while they were still vulnerable, Kon-Rao needed to be strong enough to either fight them off or at least buy time for his people to escape. His premature empowerment had been a calculated risk, one that had fortunately paid off so far.
But the other Kryptonians would not need to take the same risk. They could be prepared properly, trained thoroughly, and empowered under controlled conditions rather than in a desperate rush.
Kon-Rao finished writing the meditation technique and stepped back to review his work. It was comprehensive, practical, and grounded in experience rather than theory. It would serve its purpose well.
"LYRA," he called out, activating the ship's AI.
"Yes, Your Majesty?" Her voice responded immediately.
"Send this meditation technique to Commander Jon-Sno," Kon-Rao commanded. "Tell him to incorporate it into the training schedule for all warriors who will undergo yellow sun empowerment. They should begin practicing it immediately, even though the actual exposure is still weeks away. The more familiar they are with these mental disciplines before the transformation, the smoother the process will be."
"Understood, Your Majesty. Transmitting the file to Commander Jon-Sno now, along with your instructions."
Kon-Rao paused, considering his next priorities. Other matters needed attention, projects that had been delayed while he dealt with the immediate concerns of arriving in this new sector.
"Also," he continued, "send a summons to Jor-El and Zor-El. Tell them I require their presence in my cabin for a strategic briefing. Immediate priority."
"Summons sent, Your Majesty. Both Jor-El and Zor-El have acknowledged and are en route. Estimated arrival time is four minutes."
Kon-Rao nodded and moved to his throne-like chair, settling into it.
