Chapter 642: The First Generation Resolved, Tracing the Source!

"Hey, hey, hey…"

Ryuunosuke looked the First Generation up and down, then clicked his tongue.

"What happened to you? How did you end up like this?"

"First Generation, this is not like you at all."

He could not help tossing out a joke.

To be honest, ever since their first meeting, Ryuunosuke had known this guy was not simple.

Leaving a mark in the deep sea.

Using that mark to pass information.

Even resurrecting a vessel through it.

Ryuunosuke had always seen him as powerful and unfathomable.

And after everything he learned later, that feeling only became more certain.

But now, seeing the First Generation in such a battered state…

Ryuunosuke felt a quiet, shameless little satisfaction in his heart.

"We hit some obstacles while cleaning up the things here."

"My identity is different from yours. I am not of the D Clan."

"It is troublesome to deal with."

The First Generation spoke plainly, like the damage on his body was nothing more than an annoyance.

"But I have basically finished handling this place."

"Do you want to stay here, or leave with me?"

Hearing that, Ryuunosuke immediately spread his Observation Haki.

In a breath, he located the squads across the island.

The situation matched what he was seeing here.

All remaining God Death Guards had vanished.

Of course, that did not include the ones already killed.

"It's all done?"

"Then are you going to tell me the secret of this so called Island of Gods?"

Ryuunosuke asked directly.

Less than half an hour had passed.

Even if the First Generation was absurdly fast, this speed still felt unreasonable.

Unless he had gone straight for the core and crushed the structure holding everything together.

But what Ryuunosuke cared about most was the Seed of God.

That was what he came for.

"About the Seed of God?"

"The Seed of God is not here. This place is only a transformation site."

"The Seed's true location is beyond our reach."

The First Generation smiled faintly, then threw out a question instead.

"Do you know why the leaders of both the Guardians and the Evictors are always newcomers?"

To him, calling someone like Atostana or Roger a newcomer was perfectly natural.

They might not be young, but compared to a monster who had lived for centuries, they were still short on time.

"Because the previous leaders are all dead?"

Ryuunosuke answered without hesitation.

Roy and Brook had mentioned before that Roger only recently became the leader of the Guardians.

Meaning there were other leaders before him.

Just like Pirate King, it was a title, not a person.

"That's right. They're all dead."

"In fifty years, they will deliver the things gathered here to the location of the Seed of God."

"And both the leader of the Guardians and the leader of the Evictors will risk their lives to do it."

The First Generation said it matter of factly.

Ryuunosuke frowned.

"Why would they do that?"

"Didn't Lilith and Adam both aim to become gods?"

"Why would they still feed energy to the Seed of God?"

The more he heard, the more twisted it became.

This sounded less like resisting the Seed of God…

And more like cultivating it.

That directly conflicted with earlier information.

"This is complicated."

"If they want to seize the fruit of God, the first thing they need is for the fruit to grow."

The First Generation's voice turned colder.

"And I estimate it will be soon."

"This is also the last time I will do something like this."

"Ryuunosuke, I hope you do well during this period."

"Otherwise…"

He stopped.

The rest of the sentence never came.

Some things seemed taboo even for him.

Then he exhaled and straightened, like he had said enough.

"Alright. I'm leaving."

"Judging from your face, you don't look like someone who will believe me."

"But if you run into something you cannot solve, don't blindly smash into it."

"Bye bye."

With that, the First Generation turned and dragged his ruined body away.

Ryuunosuke did not stop him.

With how damaged that body was, it was obvious this vessel was near the end.

Whatever the First Generation intended to do next was not Ryuunosuke's business.

Ryuunosuke's Dragon Hunting Token vibrated.

"Captain, we pushed deep, but we haven't found any more Death Guards."

"Should we keep going?"

Meliodas's voice came through.

Their squad had killed the most, three God Death Guards in total.

But after those three vanished, no new ones appeared.

"Gather first."

"They won't be showing up for now."

"Have the ones with strong perception sweep the whole island. Report immediately if you find anything unusual."

"And bring all the crystals to me."

After sending the orders, Ryuunosuke grabbed Luffy, who was still standing there dazed, and headed straight back toward the beach.

Not long after he arrived, the others returned one after another.

"Captain, what happened?"

"All the monsters disappeared."

"The interest I finally got is gone again."

Ban looked like he had been cheated.

To him, this kind of fight was rare.

And the moment it got fun, it ended.

"The First Generation arrived."

"He probably destroyed the core."

"Without an energy supply, the God Death Guards can't sustain themselves."

"Nothing new will appear for the time being."

Ryuunosuke gave a simple explanation.

It was something everyone needed to know.

"So we leave now?"

Meliodas asked next.

"No."

"I'm not leaving yet."

"At first, I thought this place resembled the Calm Belt."

"And the First Generation just told me this is the starting point of the Calm Belt."

Ryuunosuke's gaze shifted to Shirahoshi.

"Shirahoshi, please."

"I need to know exactly what's down there."

"Understood, Brother Ryuunosuke!"

Shirahoshi answered instantly.

"Kun!"

She leapt forward and called out, then dove into the sea.

At this moment, Shirahoshi was no longer the trembling princess she used to be.

She was a warrior of the Dragon Hunter Pirates.

As she vanished beneath the waves, everyone's attention returned to Ryuunosuke.

"Now we wait."

"We decide our next move once we have the results."

"Maybe if we stay right here…"

"We'll meet the thing we actually came to face."

A smile appeared on Ryuunosuke's face.

The crew was puzzled, but nobody pressed him.

Because Captain Ryuunosuke had never led them wrong.
