Chapter 601 - Chapter 601: System Functions, Affairs of Wano Country!

Chapter 601: System Functions, Affairs of Wano Country!

Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have gained the Navy's full approval and received 100,000 reputation points!

Ding! Congratulations, Host. A new system function has been unlocked.

Ryuunosuke had still been mulling over what he had just heard when the system notifications rang out in his ear one after another.

He froze.

The previous confusion had not even cleared yet, and now a new one had fallen straight onto his head.

The Navy had always shown an instinctive resistance toward pirates. Disgust was practically written into their bones.

Even after everything the Dragon Hunter Pirates had done, there were still plenty of Marines who despised them.

After all, their relationship was antagonistic by nature.

That was why, even after so many earth shattering events, Ryuunosuke still had not fully earned the Navy's complete recognition.

So for the system to declare it now…

It could only mean one thing.

This incident had struck the Navy hard enough to change their hearts.

Under those circumstances, full recognition was only natural.

Of course, Ryuunosuke did not know what the Navy believed deep down.

In their eyes, the Dragon Hunter Pirates were already walking corpses, people who had burned away their own future to force their way into power.

"System."

Ryuunosuke immediately opened his panel.

He searched for the new function the notification had mentioned.

Soon, he found it.

God level attack.

When he tapped it, only three words appeared.

Beneath them was a line of smaller text.

Consume 500,000 reputation points to use the system attack.

Ryuunosuke's expression shifted into pure surprise.

If it were just reputation points, he would have been numb to it by now.

But this was different.

This was a system attack.

The system was something completely beyond the comprehension of this world. Even after reaching his current level, Ryuunosuke still could not see the system's limits.

So how terrifying would an attack from the system itself be?

And the cost was only 500,000 reputation points.

Right now, just his bases alone could provide more than 10,000 reputation points every month.

On top of that, Morgans had been streaming events nonstop, feeding him an additional steady flow.

This reward was not just useful.

It was satisfying.

"Captain."

Rem approached with intelligence in hand, speaking clearly.

"News from Wano Country. They've already begun their operation."

"But things in Wano are acting a little strange right now."

"Captain Kaido… we're almost at Wano Country."

"Do we need to do something?"

When Najenda was not on the ship, Rem handled matters like this.

When Najenda was present, she still trusted Rem with many tasks.

Rem was careful, sensitive to details, and steady when things got messy.

And there were always times when every division leader had to be out on mission together.

So Najenda had long since begun delegating to Rem for situations exactly like this.

"No action for now," Ryuunosuke said after reading the report.

"Conrad and Hawkins are over there. We don't need to worry."

But the next moment, a faint crease formed between his brows.

"Kozuki Momonosuke…"

"What is that brat up to now?"

Rem answered immediately.

"Kozuki Momonosuke has grown into the size of a normal adult thanks to his special Devil Fruit ability, the Ripe Fruit."

"And they've already mastered the abilities of artificial Devil Fruits."

"Right now, the battle there is being conducted under his command."

That only made Ryuunosuke more puzzled.

Based on what he knew, Momonosuke was a coward who clung to life.

When Momonosuke and the others escaped earlier, Ryuunosuke had already suspected the boy might have been pretending to be useless.

He just did not expect confirmation to arrive so quickly.

But this did not earn Momonosuke any respect.

If anything, it made Ryuunosuke dislike him even more.

That kid clearly had the mind of an adult.

And he had used the fact that he looked like a child to grope Nami and the others.

That kind of behavior was not something Ryuunosuke would ever approve of.

"Notify Conrad to keep an eye on Momonosuke's movements," Ryuunosuke said after thinking for a moment.

"If anything unusual happens, kill him on sight."

"Understood, Captain. I'll contact him right away," Rem replied, then left quickly.

Intelligence only mattered if it arrived on time.

After Rem left, Kuina walked over.

"Captain…"

Her face was stiff, awkward.

Like she wanted to speak, but her throat kept locking up.

"What's wrong?" Ryuunosuke asked, watching her carefully.

Then it clicked.

Kuina and Momonosuke had known each other before.

So under these circumstances, it made sense she would have something to say.

"My father… and the others have gone," Kuina said quietly.

"And after they arrived, they didn't immediately join up with our people."

"It feels like they have some other purpose, and I'm worried…"

She frowned, clearly struggling with the words.

"I hate saying this."

Kuina's main task had been to overturn Orochi's rule.

After learning Kaido was not entirely Orochi's accomplice, she had decided to let Momonosuke and the others handle the rest themselves.

With the Straw Hat crew's help, they should have been fine.

But now Koushirou and the others had gone along too.

And they still had not met up with Luffy's group.

How could she not worry as a daughter?

"I'll have our people keep an eye on them," Ryuunosuke said.

"Kuina, can you contact your father?"

If they could reach Koushirou now, that would be ideal.

At minimum, it would let them probe what he truly intended to do.

Even if Koushirou's goal was to replace Wano's ruler after the revolution, shifting the country toward the Shimotsuki instead of the Kozuki…

Ryuunosuke did not care.

He had no objection.

Kuina shook her head.

"Can't. After my father and the others landed, they didn't bring any equipment that can contact the outside world."

Her helplessness was exactly why she had come to him.

But Kuina also knew Ryuunosuke had countless things to handle.

The division leaders were not even on the ship right now.

If he had to divert manpower too aggressively, she worried it might put the others in a difficult spot.

"I see," Ryuunosuke said, then nodded once more.

"Don't worry."

"I'll have Chrollo and the others go check it out."

"If anything unexpected happens, let them act."

He spoke without hesitation.

This was his woman's business.

That meant it was his business too.

And there were additional reasons, ones he did not bother hiding from himself.

Ryuunosuke did not want Momonosuke to become Wano's ruler.

With that brat's character, he would not become a good man once he held power.

And those samurai… they did not think independently. They were blindly loyal.

That kind of country was not healthy.

If things went wrong, it would rot from the top down all over again.

"Thank you, Captain… I…" Kuina started, voice softening.

"Sister Kuina, you don't have to get so moved," Akame said as she walked over, smiling.

"I already told you Brother Ryuunosuke would agree."

"And if you didn't tell him, he'd definitely get angry."

Kuina's cheeks tightened.

The same situation, yet Akame delivered it with a completely different kind of force.

Ryuunosuke stared at them for half a second.

Then sighed, as if the world had suddenly become too noisy.

"You two little rascals," he said, reaching out.

"I'll teach you a lesson."

He scooped both of them up and carried them straight toward the cabin.

Off to the side, Heracles watched the scene, lips twitching.

"…What energetic young people," he concluded, after taking that public display like a cannonball to the chest.
