The doors of the labor room creaked open.
A tired doctor stepped out, his coat soaked with tension and triumph. His smile was gentle, as if he held in his heart the weight of something divine.
"They're ready," he said. "The children are safe. Strong. You can come in now."
The family didn't walk in. They flooded in like the long-awaited sunrise.
Inside the room were angels made flesh — a baby girl and two boys wrapped in soft white cloths, resting as if they had arrived from another realm. Their cries came and went, but when they were silent, their eyes wandered as if searching for something they already missed.
Rayyan entered first, his smile trembling on the edge of tears. Baba leaned over the cradle and smiled.
"Look who's here," he whispered. "Rayyan uncle."
Rayyan bent down, touched their tiny hands, and wept. Quietly. Proudly.
Jabir and Malik stood like guards by the crib, refusing to give anyone space. Amir groaned with mock irritation.
"Get out of my way. They probably have my eyelashes!"
Sophia laughed. For the first time in months, she laughed. Baba saw it and gave her a slow, proud nod.
Rayyan sat beside Papa, and held his hand tightly.
Maa sat beside Sophia, gently feeding her and stroking her head like a child.
In that moment, there were no wars. No monsters. No fear.
Only joy.
Then Rayyan's phone buzzed.
Once.
Twice.
Then it kept buzzing.
He glanced.
He froze.
His lips moved but made no sound. Then finally, a whisper:
"You bastard..."
Baba noticed the shift. "What happened?"
Rayyan didn't answer.
Malik saw the screen. His mouth fell open. Tears welled instantly.
Amir stepped forward, grabbed the phone, and stared.
His knees nearly gave in.
The room's energy changed. Everyone noticed.
Baba stood firm. "SAY SOMETHING!"
Rayyan turned. Walked toward the newborns. His hand trembled. He bent beside the crib.
He looked at them all. Then at Sophia.
Then at everyone.
And said:
"Your father is coming."
He turned the phone.
A red blinking dot.
Sirius ring activated.
Location: Ocean. Deep. Alive.
Sophia gasped.
Then broke into tears. Heavy, aching, beautiful tears.
Maa held her. Cried with her.
Papa buried his face in his hands, shoulders shaking.
Sara clutched Sophia and whispered, "He's coming back. He promised, remember?"
Baba stepped forward.
"Are you sure?"
Rayyan nodded.
"This signal vanished five months ago. Now it rebooted. It's him."
Malik wiped his face, laughing through tears. "He's alive..."
Jabir murmured, "We thought he was gone forever..."
Amir whispered, "He went where no man could follow..."
Baba looked out the window.
"Then this is the truth. He never left us. He just dove deeper than we could reach."
Rayyan whispered:
"He didn't vanish. He was just finding his way back... to his children... to this world."
The phone screen pulsed.
Not like a machine.
Like a heartbeat.
Far beneath the sea, somewhere in the darkest trench of the Earth, something stirred.
Not a man. Not a myth.
A soul returning home.
And the world had no idea what was about to rise from the silence.
