It would have been nice if things actually happened on a convenient weekend, but villains weren't exactly considerate enough to schedule their attacks around my free time.
So, how was I supposed to get involved?
The answer was surprisingly simple.
Our company's security team had been assigned to protect the area, so I submitted a field-trip application through the academy and requested permission to accompany them.
As a transmigrator, I already knew the exact date the attack was supposed to happen.
The academy was surprisingly flexible when it came to field experience, so getting permission wasn't particularly difficult.
My father, however, was another story.
He vehemently opposed the idea at first.
Naturally, he didn't want his injured son anywhere near a battlefield.
But after I reminded him about the mana zone beneath the mountain and explained that I needed to see the situation for myself, he eventually gave in.
There was one condition.
