I stared up at the roof of my apartment and couldn't help letting out a sigh.
"I can't believe even Professor Lena asked me to go to the ball with her on Leo's birthday."
Things had happened so quickly that I hadn't even had time to react. I'd simply stood there like an idiot while she asked me in front of the entire class.
"Cadet Rin Evans, if you don't have a partner for the party, would you like to go with me?"
The moment those words left her mouth, the classroom erupted into chaos.
Seriously, what was going on with everyone lately?
First, Leona and Kiera had started competing over who would accompany me to the ball. Then, before I'd even figured out how to deal with that mess, Professor Lena had decided to throw her hat into the ring.
And the worst part?
She had only just returned to the academy after being placed under house arrest!
Weren't you supposed to keep your public and private lives separate, Professor?
