Chapter 334 - Yang Guihua

"Ah, ah… Alain, I love you so much! I love you… I really, really love you!"

Inside the bedroom, the dim light made the two intertwined shadows merge into a single, twisted specter.

Wanhua held him tightly, her arms like ropes wrapped around his neck. Alain leaned against the headboard, his chin resting on her shoulder, still pondering the vast amount of information from today.

The moonlight flooding in from the window reached its peak. The whites of her eyes showed, and she collapsed onto Alain.

"Hah… hah…"

The girl breathed, glancing sideways at Alain's face, her pretty cheeks still flushed. "Today's love achievement gets a perfect score~"

Love was the word Alain heard most often from Yang Wanhua's lips.

It was in the steamy congee for breakfast, the simple, two-bite lunch, and the evenings filled with the "clatter-clatter" of the cutting board…

And in the dead of night when a small, square packet was torn open.

Rumble, rumble—

While she was still professing her love, a sound suddenly came from the nightstand on the other side.

"I'll get the phone."

Wanhua left his side for a moment, making solicitous inquiries to the old woman on the other end of the line.

"Professor? Please don't worry, that project will be done tomorrow… no, the day after tomorrow~"

Alain watched her back, then looked at his own palm.

A moment later, the call seemed to be over. She pulled up the blanket, covering her ample curves, and snuggled up to Alain.

"Want to take a shower together now?" The nightstand lamp twinkled in the girl's eyes. "We can still [do it] one more time."

"No, I want to rest for a bit." Alain watched the night light cast their shadows on the wall. The two dark figures seemed to have merged completely, but in reality, there was a void between them.

"You know, you're really amazing," he said. "You're your professor's right-hand woman, doing research and projects, yet you still find time to compete in all sorts of national and international competitions, raking in scholarships…"

Yang Wanhua, a computer science major. He had never asked about her specific field of study. Although they went to the same university, in reality, their paths should never have crossed.

Because Yang Wanhua was a genius.

"Mhm~ Are you jealous?" She blinked and giggled, but Alain could clearly see the inquiry in her eyes.

She was serious.

"Of course," he replied perfunctorily.

"I'm just lucky to be born in this era," she said, leaning on Alain's shoulder. "After all… computers in this age are [omnipotent]."

Her hand reached for the nightstand and found a phone. She skillfully entered the password and unlocked the screen.

She began checking his call history.

"Alain, you should just stay by my side. When we get married, you can be a stay-at-home husband—huh?"

The girl stared at a call in the history she didn't recognize. "Did you call your parents just now?"

"Yeah. They called earlier and I missed it, so I was curious and called back."

She nodded lightly, swiped past that page, and continued to play with Alain's phone, asking casually, "What did you talk to them about?"

Alain glanced at the lamp on the nightstand. "They said they've gone abroad."

"Oh…" Her hand stopped swiping the screen, as if she was thinking about something.

Wanhua said, "By the way, I found a house recently."

The girl smiled and handed the phone back to Alain. He took it, not surprised.

"What's wrong with this place? I've gotten quite used to it."

"Nothing, it's just for a little romantic mood for our long holiday~" She picked up her own phone and tapped it a few times.

A moment later, she handed it to Alain.

Alain looked at the house. The interior was decorated with a certain bourgeois flair; it probably wasn't something he could afford even if he worked hard.

"...You're really loaded." Even though he had been through this once before, Alain still felt the need to comment.

His ex-girlfriend—she was practically from a different world, not just in terms of talent, but also her wealthy family background. But she was disdainful of it. Yang Wanhua always earned her own money. Her extra income came mostly from payments for corporate projects or prize money from competitions.

"Thanks for the compliment~ How about it? Want me to be your sugar mommy?" She smirked, gazing at Alain's face.

"Forget it." Alain waved his hand. Although he seemed to be freeloading, he actually split the rent and food expenses with Wanhua and did his share of the housework.

"Why don't you just stop trying so hard and stay with me forever?" The girl seemed unable to understand Alain's stubbornness. "What do you call this? Chauvinism?"

"I don't want to owe you anything." After a moment, sensing the coldness beside him, he changed his tune. "Love and all that, it's a two-way street."

Alain took out his phone, planning to play for a bit before sleeping.

But after unlocking the screen, he frowned slightly.

"What's this?" He pointed at the screen for Wanhua to see.

Near the edge of the screen was a "melody sphere," similar to what you'd find in a music app. Wanhua must have put it there when she was playing with his phone earlier.

"That? It's a new project at the research institute. It has some badass name, what was it…" She tapped her cheek, thinking for two seconds. "Super AI? Emotional AI? I don't know what that old hag's naming sense is."

Looking at the screen, she gave her usual warm smile. "It's perfect. I can feel at ease with the prototype being tested on your phone. Plus, it can help you search for information you want."

"Oh…" Alain, only half-understanding, tapped the sphere and typed in a few characters.

It automatically opened a map application.

"Hmm?" Alain looked at the map app and frowned. "The house you mentioned, why doesn't it have an address? I can't find it here…"

"Maybe it's still under construction?" she said dismissively, her gaze lingering on the sphere on Alain's screen for two seconds before shifting to his profile. "This AI can also work with the couple's health bracelet I gave you, so it can guarantee your quality of life~"

Alain's gaze fell on the ring-shaped object on his wrist. Only then did he realize that ever since the AI appeared on his phone, the bracelet's small screen displayed more than just his heart rate and other information.

There was also a series of complex medical parameters that Alain didn't quite understand.

He tapped the AI sphere, and it automatically began to search for related information online. Just as the webpage was loading, Wanhua's voice cut in first,

"That's enough, right? It's time for bed."

At the same moment, the sphere searching for information seemed to have heard a command and abruptly stopped its activity. It retreated to the edge of the phone's screen and went still.

"Not showering?" Alain asked.

"No. I like you smelling like me."

"…" Alain looked thoughtfully at the small sphere, then locked his screen, placed his phone on the nightstand, and lay down on the large bed.

Wanhua contentedly wrapped her arms around his, and soon her even breathing could be heard.
