Chapter 589 - Chapter 589. Complete Ultra Necrozma 2

In the desertified ruins of an ancient, highly technological civilization, explosions echoed through the crumbling city as Ultra Necrozma unleashed one devastating move after another. Once, this place had likely been filled with life and advanced machinery, but now nothing remained except shattered buildings, buried streets, and the remains of ancient machines that occasionally sputtered to life before falling silent again. Amid the ruins, Alex watched with a hint of triumph as Ultra Necrozma continued its demonstration, each attack reducing another section of the dead civilization to rubble.

It had been an ongoing concern for Alex, wondering where their relationship would stand once their deal was finally completed. Ultra Necrozma was incredibly useful, and its desire for power made it surprisingly easy to work with. It had never complained about the training Alex put it through or questioned any of his commands. In many ways, it was the perfect addition to his arsenal, already possessing immense power while willingly following his lead. At times, it almost felt as though Ultra Necrozma had been part of his team from the very beginning.

Now, Alex finally had the answer he had been waiting for and couldn't help but feel secretly happy about it. Of course, with the psychic connections he shared with his Pokémon, there was really nothing secret about his feelings at all.

Once Ultra Necrozma finished its demonstration, Alex looked down at his phone and checked the progress of its training.

Description: Ultra Necrozma, the Prism Pokémon. Its body radiates immense light, transforming the surrounding darkness into brilliant energy. The crystalline armor covering its body channels this power into devastating attacks, allowing it to move with incredible speed and precision. Legends claim that its light once illuminated entire worlds, but its true potential can only be unleashed when it absorbs enough energy to restore its fractured form.

Alex shook his head as he looked over Ultra Necrozma's move proficiencies. He remembered being quite shocked the first time he saw them, but looking at them again now, his feelings hadn't changed much. He was still beyond impressed.

Ultra Necrozma had already reached Master rank when they first met, so it was obvious that it had attained that rank entirely on its own. That meant it had trained its move proficiencies from the ground up without anyone guiding it, eventually focusing almost exclusively on Prismatic Laser and Photon Geyser. Somewhere along the way, it had developed unique attributes for both moves. Prismatic Laser could target multiple opponents at once, while Photon Geyser had been transformed into an area-of-effect attack that detonated like a bomb.

When Alex asked how it had managed to achieve that, Ultra Necrozma's only answer was that it had simply trained until it could do so. It admitted, however, that it had taken centuries of practice to reach that point.

As for the rest of its move proficiencies, Ultra Necrozma learned them under Alex's guidance. Special Attacks were clearly its specialty, so those proficiencies reached Master rank in no time, while the rest slowly worked their way up to catch up. It was no wonder Ultra Necrozma had never bothered healing itself during their battle. Most of its healing moves had barely been used before they met, leaving it with little proficiency in them.

"As impressive as always," Alex said as Ultra Necrozma approached.

'Thank you,' it replied, a hint of pride blooming within its mind.

Just then, Tyranitar approached with a handful of Sparkling Stones. He must have found them while Ultra Necrozma was busy battling and demonstrating its moves.

"Thanks," Alex said as he reached up to pat Tyranitar on the head. "Good job. Keep up the good work."

Tyranitar practically melted under Alex's touch, clearly enjoying the praise before running off to collect more loot from the ruins. They still had some room left in the bag, so it made sense to stay a little longer and fill it up before finally heading home.

Alex stored the Sparkling Stones in his backpack, figuring Ultra Necrozma had no further use for them, before suddenly realizing he had never actually asked.

"Can you still use these to grow stronger?"

One of the Sparkling Stones floated out of his hand and drifted toward Ultra Necrozma. Under its psychic power, the stone shattered into tiny fragments that scattered across its body, trying to find even the smallest crevice through which they could be absorbed. Finding none, the fragments simply gathered back together, reforming the stone without so much as a crack.

'No. I am already complete. These have no use to me, not even as a means of replenishing my energy,' it replied telepathically.

"Is that so? Then I guess we'll just start selling them from now on. They're pretty expensive back home, after all."

Suddenly, Alex felt a nudge against his back, drawing his attention. He turned to find Venusaur standing behind him with an expectant look on her face.

"You want to continue training even here?" Alex asked, glancing around at the desert-like environment. "It isn't exactly the best place for it, but I guess we can use that to our advantage. Try using Growth on the soil and see if you can draw out even the smallest traces of nutrients."

"Venusaur!" she exclaimed happily before running off, eager to begin her new training.

Half a year had already passed since she evolved into Ivysaur. Through continuous move proficiency training, Expert ranked pellets, and sheer determination, she had managed to reach Adept rank and evolve into her final form.

Although she hadn't gained any combat experience, which normally accelerated growth considerably, she had spent that time training in near-inhospitable environments, and it seemed to have done wonders for her. For a Grass type Pokémon with fickle environmental requirements, she had remarkably high adaptability, allowing her to thrive even in the deadly environments of the Ultra Dimension.

Thus, she trained diligently over the next month while the rest of Alex's Pokémon scoured the Ultra Ruins for Master ranked resources. They collected anything valuable or durable enough to survive their attacks, storing everything they found in the backpack until it was finally full. Once they were done, Alex activated his return beacon and headed home.

"You've really brought us quite a haul this time," the female scientist said as she looked over the list of materials Alex had brought back. "Are you selling all of these?"

"Yes," Alex replied. "I'm in serious need of credits lately. I don't think this will even be enough for the project I'm working on."

The scientist tapped her holopad a few times before raising an eyebrow.

"Even 12 billion credits isn't enough?" she asked in disbelief.

"How much do you think a top-of-the-line arena would cost? No expenses spared. I want it to be large and durable enough for at least a hundred Master ranked Pokémon to have an all-out battle without having to worry about damaging the surroundings."

"About that much... no, maybe more."

"There you go. There's a good chance the materials I'm bringing in will end up being used to build my arena, but that doesn't account for their rarity on the market or the craftsmen's fees. I also have a few other construction projects lined up, so I need all the money I can get."

"Well... you're doing a damn good job of it, considering you're bringing in more resources than nearly a hundred other Master ranked trainers manage in a single trip."

"Perks of the last place I visited."

"I bet."

Once Alex finished the debriefing procedures, he headed home and immediately sought out Kaia.

"Alex!" Kaia cheered as she rushed into his arms.

They spent some time cuddling and sharing slow, affectionate kisses before eventually turning their attention to business.

"I have a Pokémon for you to take care of," he said, handing her a Poké Ball. "She's a Venusaur who lost her family to a planetary disaster. Apart from the more powerful Pokémon, she's probably the only survivor."

"You picked up another one after Larvitar," Kaia pointed out. "Are you going to keep doing this every time you come back?"

"It's all about fate," Alex said with a shrug. "Outside of combat necessities, I've always been the type to go along with whatever fate throws my way."

"I'll take good care of her," Kaia said, shaking her head at Alex's latest whim.

"Give her some combat pointers, too. She seems eager to grow stronger."

"Leave it to me."

Once this bit of business was done, Alex finally unleashed his pent-up libido, taking some time to indulge himself before turning his attention back to the task at hand. He now had 12 billion credits to spend, and there was still plenty that needed to be built on Obsidian Crown Island.

This time, it was Nyx and Rhea's turn to dictate what they wanted for the island. After all, they had their own projects and ideas, and with this much money now available, there was no reason to hold back.

So, without wasting any time, Alex went to meet with the two of them and find out exactly what they had in mind.
