Duan Qianxian lowered her head in silence.
"Not saying anything? Cat got your tongue?" Duan Qianzhen asked her.
"I'm not..." Duan Qianxian turned her head to look out the window, feeling bitter inside as tears silently streamed down her face.
"Crying? What right do you have to cry? If you liked him, you should have confessed early. Getting rejected now wouldn't have made you suffer silently for so long. You're just being foolish!" Duan Qianzhen's reprimand carried no trace of leniency.
"He barely spent any time in Jing City, maybe just once or twice a year. You know that, brother!" Duan Qianxian felt aggrieved.
"Dry your tears. What do you have to feel aggrieved about?" Duan Qianzhen's tone was stern.
Duan Qianxian wiped her tears, "If I confessed earlier, would there have been a chance?"
"No!"
"Why? Didn't you just say I should confess early?"
