POV: Ryan Zephyr
An hour had passed after Aria and Everett left my office and since then, Jennifer and I discussed frivolous matters with one another until we eventually engaged into a rather unnecessary, but lustful activity as in the moment we were finished, I was notified that multiple students were inside the evaluation facility, which should be off-limits for all students with the exception of a few.
Annoyed by the constant melody of the alert, I turned on one of my monitors and switched through the cameras of the academy until I found the evaluation facility as Jennifer and I witnessed Rai beating Arthur with relative ease, sparking Jennifer's curiosity as her eyes widened in astonishment.
"What in the world am I watching right now?" Jennifer asked, awestruck as it was her first time seeing Arthur so helpless against someone of his age.
"I'll admit that when you first told me earlier about the details of the mission, I found it hard to believe that the boy who was beaten down by Jacob was the one who miraculously saved everyone, but it seems that you were telling the truth as that same boy isn't even breaking a sweat against Arthur of all people." Jennifer added as her bewilderment left me confused.
"I thought I told you that Rai was the kid that I raised. Did you forget?" I asked curiously as Jennifer slowly turned her head towards me, utterly lost as I struggled to recall the time that I informed her about Rai until I remembered that I never told her about the origins of Rai to begin with, inspiring a sheepish laugh from me as Jennifer smiled until she slapped me across my face, knocking me out of my chair as she buttoned up her dress shirt and fixed her disheveled hair.
"You know, I always wondered why you were so cold to Rai, but I guess it would make sense that a new student disrespecting the Headmaster of the academy would get on your bad side." I reflected, rubbing my cheek as I laid on the cold floor of my office while Jennifer placed her glasses onto her face, slightly adjusting them.
"To believe that you're the Headmaster of a prestigious hero academy is mind-boggling. Now I feel horrible for treating him the way I did." Jennifer remarked as her guilt roused a chuckle from me, causing her to sharpen her gaze as I waved her off.
"There's no need to worry about that. I'm certain that you are the last person on his mind, so there's no need to feel guilty about your actions as Rai was also in the wrong for treating me like that. I mean I'm human too, right?" I asked as Jennifer deadpanned until she sighed, directing her attention towards the monitor once more as we watched Rai send Arthur tumbling into a tree.
"If he's the kid that you raised, then that explains why he's absurdly strong and well trained in hand-to-hand combat. If he truly wanted to, I wouldn't be surprised if he claimed the top rank, considering how well he's doing against Arthur." Jennifer remarked as I remembered sparring against Rai before he enrolled into junior high.
As much as I would like to take credit for Rai's power, I have to admit that I wasn't the reason why he became so strong.
In terms of Aspectual Power, Rai was able to achieve significant results in mastering his Aspect since it was none other than myself as his teacher.
I would even go as far as to say that among his generation at the time, he yielded the greatest results in terms of Aspectual Power as well as his insight into his own Aspect, although that isn't the reason why he's become so strong now as not only has his Aspectual Power decreased, but his Aspectual Prowess has also decreased over the years.
The reason why he's so strong now is because of his master, Nyx.
Within the span of a few years, Nyx created a genius of combat that even I was forced to acknowledge after sparring against him during his evaluation exam.
His physique, mental fortitude and prowess for combat had improved so drastically that I found it hard to believe that he was the boy that I had raised all those years ago.
He's truly become a force to be reckoned with.
"It was smart that they chose to fight in the evaluation facility, considering that the walls within it conceals an Aspector's Aspectual Force from leaking outside as Rai wishes to keep his Aspect hidden, although…" Jennifer mentioned, her voice petering out as she narrowed her eyes, leaning towards the monitor as her sudden silence left me concerned.
"What's wrong?" I asked, picking myself up from the floor as I looked at the monitor and immediately understood the reasoning behind her silence.
"That's Selene, isn't it?" Jennifer asked as we watched the pale silver haired girl walking along a trail within the forest, listening to music as the direction of her path was bound to intersect with Arthur and Rai, who were solely focused on their fight as Arthur was the first to activate his Aspect, grabbing the attention of Selene as she felt Arthur's Aspectual Force.
"Yeah… that is." I replied slowly with a sigh as I forgot to inform the students that the evaluation facility was closed today.
"How do you want to go about this?" Jennifer asked as I buttoned up my shirt.
"We can continue watching from here. If Selene leaves the facility, we can tell her about the situation with Rai and if she chooses to stay, then that's even better for us as Rai will be the one to explain everything to her and that way, we can even go for another round-"
Amidst my perverted suggestion, Jennifer slapped me once more with a scowl, storming out of my office as I fell back into my chair, staring at my ceiling while I imagined the outcome of their fight, which brought forth a smile as I pulled out my box of cigarettes and placed one inside of my mouth before lighting it.
Good luck, Arthur.
