"How did you end up here, Marianne?" Rahul asked, smiling and tilting his head to the side, whereupon the world's most famous tailor just raised her hand to her mouth and started giggling.
"Our sons exiled us for the holiday." She finally gave the answer, then turned to her husband with a loving look. "Isn't that right, Matthias?" As the woman addressed him, the blacksmith immediately turned to her.
"It's as you say, Annie dear." The man agreed with her, then resumed his young form, in which most people know him. "So, son, what were you doing here?" He asked with his hands on his hips and eyebrows raised.
"Can't you tell, father?" Mittar asked with a smile. "You are the hero of the Deadworld Trench. The abilities of undersea-walkers are finally not suppressed. Your story is told to the children. You have become a role model, father." Young Mullen explained and looked down at the ground, as if ashamed of himself for this.
"Abilities? What abilities do undresea-walkers have?" Benkó grimaced.
"They breathe underwater?" He received an answer mixed with a question from Citár, whereupon the Bokló eternal looked at his companion with narrowed eyes.
"Thanks. I wasn't interested in the obvious." He finally rolled his eyes.
"Don't be such a grumpy peeing boy, just because someone can't breathe underwater doesn't mean you have to grumble." Achilles put one hand on the boy's shoulders, next to whose head the jellyfish was still floating, which hadn't left the Motumisz boy alone for a minute since its appearance.
"Do you want me to break your arm off your shoulder?" Benkó asked with a crazy grin on his face.
"Stop before Tev stops you." Citar rolled his eyes.
"What happened, you became the voice of reason? You? The one who gets involved in trouble from most of us because he's curious." Achilles grimaced, causing Citar's eyes to flash with angry fire and he was about to jump at the Motumisz if Wandi hadn't put his arm around his waist and pulled him back.
"Not the best time to fight." The danovus said calmly, thanks to which the boy took a deep breath and closed his eyes, but he quickly opened them and just folded his arms in front of him, pulled his neck in and made a sullen face.
"Okay, you're right." The Bolacsuk boy gave in.
"So, Easterners, are you also curious about the answer, or do you just want to gnaw at each other?" At the sudden question, the Athamanas turn as one person to Matthias, who is standing next to the statue in the middle of the square, looking at them with folded arms.
"Don't take it personally, Matthias, the Athamanas are just like that." Kamu laughed.
"But they would certainly appreciate a little clarification." Ajtony appeared next to the Ishán of the Immortal Mist, and placed one elbow on his friend's shoulder and the other hand on his hip. However, the next moment he began to fall towards the ground when Kamu assumed his ghost form and took a step forward. "Hey, why now?" The Mist's poison mixer asked in a desperate voice, after gathering himself.
"I'm not a supportbeam." The ghost-man stuck out his tongue at his friend as he regained his form.
"Fuck you Kamu." The poison mixer growled under his breath.
"No thanks." The assassin shrugged.
"Later." Suk whispered to Teveli, who had to bite his lip to keep from laughing.
"So we'll get the explanation?" The Ishán asked, but in the meantime he gave the two boys a quick glance, as if to tell them that they would talk about this later. However, this didn't mean much to either Suk or Teveli, who just stood there grinning, looking like two little children planing on doing something mischevious.
"You will." Matthias rolled his eyes, but already turned away from the group. "Maybe the conversation shouldn't be held in the middle of the square." He thought about it. "How much have you changed the place, Mittar?" He asked his son, who at first just blinked at him.
"Not much. I just renovated it, more like." The older Mullen boy confessed. "I tried to leave the place as it was when I came here." He added, pressing his neck, which made his father smile.
"Perfect. Then I know a good place." Matthias announced, then stood next to his wife and took her hand. "You wanted to see where I grew up, Annie dear, here's your chance." The man smiled, then started off in one direction. "Aren't you coming? I thought you were curious." He looked back at the large group, who immediately started off after him.
Thanks to this, they all followed the world's most famous blacksmith like ducklings through the streets of Deadworld Trench, as they got further and further away from the city center. Here, although the houses were still the same, the bustle of the city died down a little. Everything was much calmer around them.
"I walked these streets when I was young. My grandparents' house was that way." Matthias pointed to the right at one point. "And ours was that way." He nudged him in the opposite direction. "It's definitely gone now." He chuckled as he continued on.
"And where are you taking us now, my dear?" Marianne asked with a smile.
"To the best view." The blacksmith chuckled when they reached the city wall. "This wasn't here long ago." Matthias noted.
"The wall is new. It protects against wild animals." Mittar shrugged as he tried to explain himself.
"I understand. I mean the mountain is the point anyway." He noted as he glanced to the side, where a smaller mountain actually rose, which the group then climbed. "And here we are." Matthias said happily, when they all reached the top of the mountain, from where they could see far into the sea. "The view is more beautiful at sunset." He added.
"This is wonderful." Marianne's eyes sparkled as she looked at the reef spread out before them.
Everywhere visible to the eye, huge shells lay on the seabed, some with pearls glistening, here and there corals sprouted from the cracks of the shells and broke towards the surface. Elsewhere, the bones of long-forgotten ancient creatures protruded from the mud. The landscape was dominated by shades of white, cream, and the palest shades of the rainbow, which took everyone's breath away. Some referred to this place as the Graveyard of the Ancients, others called it Ghost Reef.
However, among the local undersea-walkers, this white landscape had a completely different name. Although he had lived here for years, even Mittar had never seen this wonder before. The sea truly has new wonders to offer to those who do not know every corner of it.
"Welcome to Deadworld." Matthias noted with a half smile on his lips as he looked over the gaping, sparkling-eyed group, all of whom were looking at the landscape with astonished faces, of which landscape, although not even Mittar, who had authorized the thing, knew, the locals had named the city after.
