Chapter 166 - TPM Chapter 170 Capturing the Second Widow

After controlling the agent's will with her divine charm, she pulled the veil back over her face, tucking away the loose strands of hair.

The atmosphere shifted instantly. The charged weight of her unveiled beauty receded, the corridor dimming back to its ordinary gloom. Yet even veiled, Freya remained like a lantern in the dark—her presence impossible to hide, impossible to forget.

The captured agent gazed at the goddess as though the world itself revolved around her, each breath slow, measured, tender. "Is there anything I can do for you?" she asked softly. The tone carried no resistance, only the fragile yearning of a lover awaiting command.

Luthar stepped closer, optics dimming faintly. His hands folded neatly behind his back as he spoke in his usual clinical cadence. "Name. Rank. Position. Everything about this base."

The agent didn't look at him. Her eyes clung to Freya, as though Luthar were no more real than the walls around them. His questions fell into silence, unheeded.

A sharp ache twisted in Natasha's chest. She had lived through the Red Room's arsenal of control—needles, chemicals, shock drills, endless conditioning. That had been brutal, absolute. But this? This was worse. No cages, no injections. Just a smile, a glance—and a will trained for steel obedience melted into blind love and devotion.

"This is worse than losing freedom," she murmured, her voice strained. "It's escaping one cage only to enter another."

The agent's fingers twitched toward her holster, and her eyes flashed with hostility at the words. To her, this wasn't bondage. For the first time in her life, she felt unshackled—her devotion to Freya was not a chain, but rather liberation.

Freya noticed the flicker of agitation and reached out, stroking the woman's hand lightly, soothing her like a restless child. Instantly the tension bled from the agent's body, replaced by quiet calm.

Luthar tilted his head, the faint hum of his processors betraying agitation beneath his calm exterior. "Unstable. Dangerous." His voice carried a sharp, measured edge. "If you can do this—what stops another from using such power on my forces? Is there a countermeasure?"

Natasha's arms folded tightly across her chest, her glare sharp. "Now you're concerned about free will? Interesting."

Their annoyance radiated in different directions, but the air thickened all the same.

Freya, untouched by either's anger, let a faint smile curl beneath her veil. Her tone was smooth, commanding without effort. "If such a threat worries you, then you could ask Hestia for help as she holds the purity to break such bonds." A pause, subtle but sharp. "But I don't think she would be interested in leaving the Orario."

Luthar's optics flickered, colder now, his silence heavy with thought. He considered the risks—nano bombs inside his soldiers could prevent them from turning on him, but the same mechanism could be exploited by enemies. Just imagine if somebody hijacked the mechanism and blew up all the nano bombs, it would make him a commander without troops.

After resolving to study mind control and charm resistance more thoroughly, he turned his attention to the agent, signalling Freya to let the agent answer his questions.

Under Freya's subtle guidance, the agent finally shifted, her voice low and steady. "This base is one of several contact points that handle requests from the Red Room to the Russian government. Two operatives rotate shifts here."

She hesitated, eyes flicking briefly to Freya before returning, devotion sharpening her tone. "Any request for equipment, reinforcements, or intelligence passes through these hubs."

The agent's words flowed smoothly, each one precise. "Supply deliveries arrive twice weekly," she said, soft but unwavering. "They come from a government storage facility twenty kilometres east."

Natasha pressed a finger to her lips, noting the efficiency. Every word revealed the base's layout, operations, and security protocols without revealing the agent herself. Luthar stepped closer, scanning the information, already calculating the next move.

The agent continued, "Each rotation lasts seven days. After that, another pair takes over."

Luthar finally exhaled, his expression softening slightly. "That's enough. I don't need more details about this base." He stepped back to give the agent a moment to collect herself, then asked precisely, "Do you know the location of the main base of the Red Room?"

She spoke, her voice low and careful. "I know the general location. The main facility is far north, hidden within the Mountains. Coordinates are closely guarded. Only senior operatives are permitted exact access."

Hearing this, Luthar made his decision. The priority was clear: intercept the second agent first, then proceed to the main Red Room facility. Without hesitation, he signalled the others to move. "We intercept the second Widow immediately, then head straight to the main base," he resolved.

As they moved deeper into the base, the captured agent trailing obediently, Natasha asked quietly, scepticism in her tone, "What's the point of catching the second Widow? She probably already sent the signal about the base's compromise."

Luthar's optics glinted faintly. "All communications here were jammed the moment we arrived. Any attempt to alert the outside would fail. That's why we intercept her now, before she can leave and transmit any information."

Freya's veil-shrouded face tilted. "So the signals were blocked the moment you landed?"

"Yes," Luthar replied. "If the Red Room leader realised we were after them, he might vanish and relocate the main base, making it much harder to catch him."

As they arrived at the small service room, a sharp gunshot cracked through the corridor. The second Widow—the perimeter agent—stood ready, weapon aimed, body coiled to strike.

Freya's subtle gesture prompted Luthar into action. The bullet struck him squarely, but his robes and internal armour absorbed the impact without effect.

The agent drew a dagger, eyes filled with determination, lunging for a lethal strike. Her blade met nothing but reinforced robes and unyielding armour.

Before she could strike again, Luthar produced a small syringe from his robes. With precise efficiency, he injected her with a potent sedative. Her body stiffened, then collapsed, surrendering instantly to the deep sleep the drug induced.

Natasha stepped into the room cautiously. Freya followed, observing. Both Luthar and Natasha immediately set to work sifting through documents, seeking critical intelligence. Freya's understanding of the technical details was limited, so she simply watched, alert and attentive.

Once satisfied, Luthar withdrew a compact explosive device, positioning it among the documents. The timer was set with calm precision—a final measure to ensure nothing could survive the intrusion.

Satisfied, he lifted the sedated agent effortlessly into his arms. Natasha and Freya followed, retracing the corridor toward the exit. Soon, the room would be nothing more than ashes.

At the surface, Freya's veil-shrouded face tilted. "Are we using your current aircraft to travel to the main base?" she asked, her voice smooth and deliberate.

Natasha stiffened, frustration evident. "Absolutely not. I'm not getting into that coffin again."

The agent, still under Freya's influence, glanced at her mistress. "If my lady needs… There is a helicopter. Though it would be risky to fly it directly to the main base, as it could be intercepted by air defence."

Freya's silver strands shifted as she considered the options. Her calm gaze swept between Natasha and the compliant agent. She nodded slightly, letting the agent guide them to the helicopter.
