"You don't have to say anything. I'll go with you!"
Bellamy had explained Viola's ability to them in detail. Law and Drake immediately understood that she had just read their minds. Even though they knew beforehand and were somewhat prepared, when such a bizarre thing actually happened to them, they couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Having one's inner world laid bare for someone else to see would make any normal person feel restless.
The filth of the human heart was comparable to the most disgusting garbage dump in the world. Any sane human being inevitably harbored all sorts of unfulfilled desires. This almost insatiable greed was perhaps the biggest difference between humans and other races. Law and Drake were normal humans; they knew better than anyone what kind of dirty thoughts they had had in the past. In front of Viola, they felt like they were running naked in the sun.
Viola, of course, knew what they were thinking. She still clearly remembered the conflicted expressions on her parents' faces when they found out about this ability of hers.
"It's exactly the same."
That mix of terror and awe, yet also a desire for her power.
"Humans."
Viola sighed inwardly. Although this ability had brought her much convenience, it had also shown her from a very young age what kind of creatures humans truly were.
"Let's go. We shouldn't stay here for long."
The moment she saw Law and Drake, she had made her decision. Nine years! She had waited for this opportunity for nine whole years!
With Viola being so cooperative, Law and Drake were naturally delighted. They had already completed most of the mission. Now, as long as they could escape from the inner city, even if the Donquixote Family discovered something was wrong, it would be too late.
"Let's go!"
"You lead the way," Drake said to Viola with a nod.
In this world, there was no better scout than a user of the Glare-Glare Fruit. 360-degree vision, x-ray capabilities, wall-penetrating sight, and a detection range of up to 4,000 kilometers. With her leading the way, unless the streets were packed with people, it was almost impossible for them to be discovered.
And that's exactly how it was.
Viola led them on a winding path through the city, and they didn't encounter a single person along the way. The inner district was the most prosperous part of Dressrosa, with no shortage of residents. Yet, they had easily made it to the vicinity of the city wall. Law used his ability to teleport the three of them out.
"We're safe."
Once they were out of the inner district, even if Doflamingo came charging out of the palace right now, they had a good chance of escaping.
"Let's go. The captain is waiting for us."
The mission had gone unexpectedly smoothly, which was an excellent sign. Both Law and Drake were quite excited, because according to Bellamy's plan, they were about to launch their assault.
"It's finally starting!"
How many years had they waited for this moment?
"Bellamy?" Viola had, of course, heard the name. The newspaper from a year ago had caused a huge stir in Dressrosa. After getting the news, she had secretly prayed countless times for the Bellamy Pirates to arrive quickly. She just hadn't expected to wait for a full year. But finally, Bellamy had not broken his promise. He was really here.
Viola was very curious about this man. What kind of person was Bellamy?
At this thought, Viola glanced secretly at Drake. By peering into his mind, she had already learned of all of Bellamy's plans. There was one thing that puzzled her greatly. "How does Bellamy know about my hidden ability?"
This mind-reading power, apart from her parents, Viola had never told anyone. Even Doflamingo didn't know she possessed such a terrifying ability. But Bellamy not only knew, but he also knew her ability very well. He could even state the 4,000-kilometer range of her ability, something she herself wasn't entirely sure of. Viola couldn't figure out how he had done it.
Fortunately, she had now escaped from the inner city. The first mate of the Bellamy Pirates was taking her back. Soon, she would be able to see this legendary man.
With a hint of anticipation, Viola followed behind Law and Drake, hurrying through the outer district. Before long, they returned to the empty house they had come from.
"Captain, we've found her. She's with me now." The moment they were back inside, Drake immediately contacted Bellamy to share the good news.
"Well done."
Hearing the good news so quickly, Bellamy was naturally overjoyed. "What's your situation now?"
Drake briefly described the night's operation. Their situation was excellent. So far, the Donquixote Family had not noticed anything unusual. Dressrosa had been peaceful for too long. Under Doflamingo's infamous reputation, no one dared to cause trouble here. The long period of peace had made everyone let down their guard. No one could have predicted that, after a year, the Bellamy Pirates would suddenly attack.
Seeing that the plan was going unexpectedly well, Bellamy immediately activated his backup plan.
"All hands, drop anchor where you are, grab your weapons, and follow me!"
The original plan was to sneak Viola out. But since the Donquixote Family was completely oblivious, there was no need for such trouble. Bellamy directly lowered a small boat and, along with all the members of the Bellamy Pirates and the Heart Pirates, set foot on Dressrosa.
It was now close to midnight, and the streets of the outer district were empty. This environment provided a great convenience for their operation.
Compared to the Bellamy Pirates, Law's pirate crew was much more conventional. The Heart Pirates had quite a few members, over forty in total. Although most of them were just cannon fodder, Dressrosa was a large country. In the upcoming plan, this cannon fodder could still be of some use.
"Let's go rendezvous with Law first."
The place where Law and Drake were hiding was not far from the port. Bellamy's group took a small boat, secretly landed at the port, and then, under the cover of night, snuck all the way to the small alley where they were located.
The journey was not without its hitches. More than forty people walking together on the street was still too conspicuous. But under the cover of Bellamy's Observation Haki, all potential incidents were nipped in the bud.
