Chapter 302 - Chapter 302: Robin’s Invitation

After Robin stepped off the stage, the Sweetdream Troupe swarmed in, taking over the platform she had just vacated.

Watching the bizarre ensemble of televisions, mechanical dogs, and gorillas singing and dancing on stage, Yun Fan couldn't help but feel a few black lines form on his face, utterly speechless.

Forgive him—this kind of art was simply too avant-garde for his tastes. He didn't have the sophistication to appreciate it.

"Haaah—" Letting out a drowsy yawn, Yun Fan stretched lazily before preparing to leave the Clockie Studios Theme Park. As for the fact that someone had been spying on him earlier, he couldn't care less. This was the absolute confidence that came with power. Without exaggeration, unless the Aeon of Harmony, Xipe, were to descend in person, no one present could possibly be his match.

In the face of absolute strength, the schemes of Penacony's people were utterly insignificant.

Just as Yun Fan was about to stand and leave, a beautiful young woman with light makeup suddenly approached him. Bowing slightly, she spoke respectfully, "Hello, sir. I am an artiste of the Iris Family. Our young lady wishes to meet with you."

"Your young lady?" Yun Fan was slightly surprised. Could it be that the one who had been observing him earlier was from the Iris Family? That didn't seem right. The Iris Family oversaw entertainment and culture, but investigations like this should have fallen under the jurisdiction of the Bloodhound Family, shouldn't they?

Though puzzled, Yun Fan didn't press further. Standing up from his seat, he casually tossed his drink bottle and popcorn bucket into a pocket dimension before straightening the wrinkles in his clothes. He then said to the girl from the Iris Family, "Lead the way."

——————————————

"What's going on? That girl is… Robin's maid? Don't tell me… this girl is really acting recklessly!"

Sunday, who had been watching this scene unfold through surveillance, frowned deeply. With a single glance, he grasped the situation. As the leader of the Oak Family, Sunday was in charge of politics, and his intellect was second to none.

"I hope this doesn't cause any trouble…"

——————————————

"Please come in, sir. Our young lady is waiting inside."

The girl led Yun Fan to an elegant private room before stopping and gesturing for him to enter.

"Mm, thank you."

The black-haired man nodded slightly, then raised his head to glance at the plaque above the door.

"Romeo and Juliet? Quite the romantic name." Pushing open the closed door, Yun Fan strode inside. When his eyes fell upon the person before him, they brightened slightly.

At a finely crafted tea table, a beautiful Halovian girl was gracefully brewing a pot of black tea. Her every movement flowed naturally, without the slightest hint of awkwardness or hesitation, as though she had been born with such poise.

The girl wore light makeup, her dewy eyes brimming with warmth. A faint, undoubtedly expensive shade of red adorned her cherry-like lips, adding an extra touch of beauty to her already striking features.

"Mr. Yun Fan, thank you for coming."

As Yun Fan entered the room, Robin smiled and lightly lifted the hem of her skirt, performing a polite curtsy.

"Oh? You know me?" Though Yun Fan phrased it as a question, he wasn't particularly surprised. Sunday was the leader of the Oak Family, and Robin likewise held significant influence within the Iris Family. It was only natural that they could investigate his information.

What puzzled him, however, was how Robin had managed to pick him out of the crowd as someone special.

"I don't know you personally, Mr. Yun Fan. But during the concert just now, I sensed an unfamiliar fluctuation of Path energy. Though it lasted only an instant, it was exceptionally clear." Robin offered a brief explanation before nervously awaiting the man's response.

Truth be told, she was somewhat apprehensive. She had some inkling of just how terrifying the person before her was. After Sunday left that day, she had secretly investigated the incident where the dreamscape had nearly collapsed.

In terms of pure strength, Robin was no match for Sunday. But when it came to perception and observational skills, she far surpassed her elder brother.

Sneaking to the epicenter of the dream collapse, Robin had used the power of Harmony to capture a wavelength of Path energy she had never encountered before.

And today, at the concert, the moment her final song ended, she had detected the same wavelength emanating from a man in the audience.

"So that's how it is. You're quite sharp—is this a special ability of the Halovians?"

Yun Fan suddenly understood, realizing how she had managed to find him.

"In that case, I must say, Miss Robin, you're quite brave. Knowing that I'm the big bad who nearly destroyed Penacony's dreamscape, you still dared to risk meeting me in person. Do you have some special trump card up your sleeve?"

Yun Fan adjusted his chair, sliding it closer to Robin before sitting down shamelessly just twenty centimeters away from the girl.

"I—I believe you wouldn't do that."

Trembling slightly under the masculine aura radiating from the man beside her, Robin felt her body tense. In all her years, aside from her brother Sunday, no man had ever been this close to her.

"Why?"

"It's… my intuition."

Hearing this, Yun Fan paused for a moment before moving his seat back to its original position and sitting across from Robin.

"I'll accept that reason for now, Miss Robin."

His words allowed the girl to relax slightly—until his next sentence sent her heart leaping into her throat again.

"However, I'm afraid I might disappoint you. In a certain sense, I really am a villain—one who enjoys collecting beautiful things."

The atmosphere instantly grew heavy, as though the air itself had frozen. Robin swallowed nervously, resigning herself to whatever Yun Fan would say next.

But then—

"I'm joking." Yun Fan's tone shifted abruptly as he picked up the cup of black tea on the table, leaning back into his chair with a faint, triumphant smile.

"Y-You're quite amusing, Mr. Yun Fan…"

Robin forced an awkward laugh, though her heart remained tense. She couldn't tell whether his "I'm joking" was genuine or not.

This man… she couldn't see through him.

"Hahaha, you flatter me. Of course, not everything I said was false. It's undeniable that I do have an appreciation for beautiful things."

Here, Yun Fan paused, his gaze sweeping over Robin like a scalpel. Strangely, however, his eyes held no trace of inappropriate thoughts—only a pure, unclouded appreciation that didn't provoke any discomfort.

"Miss Robin, if you have something to ask, just say it directly. No need to keep flattering me—I'm immune to that."

"Since you insist, Mr. Yun Fan, then forgive my bluntness. May I ask… why did you try to destroy the dreamscape that day?"
