The Senior screamed in agony from inside the coffin.
The black mist spread through the air in an instant.
Just as a massive explosion seemed about to occur, the dense mist suddenly froze.
Then, like birds returning to their nest, it rapidly surged toward Wade.
Woosh!
The instant the black mist entered his body, Wade felt three of the restraints he had just placed within his mind shatter at once.
"Arg.."
An indescribable sense of pleasure rose from the depths of his soul.
If the breaking restraints had not shocked his soul back to awareness, Wade might have completely lost himself in that overwhelming bliss.
There was no doubt that if he surrendered to that pleasure and lost his reason, he would continue absorbing the residue without stopping.
Until eventually, he became a second Senior.
But although Wade's reason was wavering under the overwhelming pleasure, he still retained the bare minimum of consciousness.
As long as he remained rational, he could cut off the absorption the instant he had taken in half of the residue.
And once half of the residue inside the Senior was gone, it would no longer threaten to tear her apart from within.
Crack!
In the blink of an eye, the fourth restraint shattered.
Wade felt his scalp go numb.
Had seven restraints been too few?
But there was no helping it. Seven was a magically significant number, so seven restraints produced the strongest binding effect.
Poof!
The fifth restraint shattered as well.
Wade's mind slipped for an instant before being dragged back to clarity once again.
"One-third..."
Feeling the residue swelling inside his body, even Wade began to feel uneasy.
Just how greedy had the Senior been back then to absorb this much?
Then again, this stuff really was addictive.

The sixth restraint shattered.
The magical backlash from its destruction struck Wade's soul once more and pulled him back to awareness.
"Only one left..."
Wade clenched the Hogyoku tightly.
Poof!
The final restraint vanished.
With the last of his rationality, Wade activated the Hogyoku.
In the next instant, the residue inside his body began pouring into it.
"Ugh..."
A wave of excruciating pain, completely opposite to the overwhelming pleasure from before, instantly dragged Wade from heaven into hell.
Unlike releasing a small amount of residue, forcibly stripping away large quantities caused tremendous pain.
It felt like being skinned alive.
That was why the Senior had screamed so terribly earlier.
Now, under the intense pain, Wade's fading reason returned once again.
This time, even without the restraints, he could remain conscious.
Wade had calculated this in advance.
The Hogyoku's capacity was nowhere near enough to contain all the residue inside the Senior, so he first had to absorb a sufficient amount himself before transferring it.
At that point, the pain caused by stripping the residue away would keep him conscious.
Absorbing and releasing at the same time, Wade remained trapped in the bizarre state of being in agony and ecstasy simultaneously.
Meanwhile, as the residue continued to drain away, the black cloak covering the Senior gradually crumbled into ash and disappeared.
Still conscious, Wade felt the Hogyoku in his hand growing hotter and hotter.
That meant it was nearing its limit.
"...Cut it off!"
Wade deactivated the Hogyoku.
The pain immediately vanished, and pleasure flooded back into him.
With the last of his rationality, Wade also severed the connection between himself and the Senior.
Thud!
The Senior collapsed back into the coffin.
The terrible pain seemed to have caused her to faint.
Wade also dropped to one knee.
Even though he had stopped absorbing the residue, and some of the residue inside him had already been transferred into the Hogyoku, a tremendous amount still remained within his body.
All kinds of negative emotions, together with the intense physical pleasure coursing through him, began relentlessly assaulting Wade's mind.
Suppressed groans escaped his throat.
At that moment, Ravenclaw's Diadem began releasing waves of cool magic, easing some of Wade's burden.
Even so, his condition remained precarious.
Anyone could see that from this point on, everything depended on Wade's willpower.
"Wade!" Dumbledore looked at him worriedly.
Wade slowly raised his head.
Dumbledore was shocked to discover that Wade's eyes had turned completely blood-red.
The immense magical power radiating from his body was filled with oppression and violence.
"Wade?"
Dumbledore tightened his grip on his wand and became alert.
He truly did not want to see Wade lose control again.
But according to the precautions they had agreed upon beforehand, he had no choice but to prepare himself.
"Calm down... child..."
Ms Paris suddenly walked over and gently placed her left hand against Wade's forehead.
Dumbledore watched in astonishment as the violent magic surrounding Wade miraculously began to settle with Ms Paris's approach.
"Cough... cough..."
Wade coughed violently and gasped for breath.
When he raised his head again, he found himself looking directly into Ms Paris's gentle smile.
The blood-red colour in his eyes had completely disappeared.
"Take a deep breath... Just like when you practise Occlumency. Calm your mind..." Ms Paris continued softly.
Without knowing why, Wade followed her instructions.
Occlumency quietly took effect.
Gradually, the negative emotions surging through Wade's mind actually began to subside.
"You suddenly came into contact with too many negative emotions at once. That's why you lost control. It's all right. You've already passed the hardest part. Rest now... Leave the rest to us," Ms Paris said with a smile.
"No... I still need to stay conscious. Ms Paris... this isn't over yet."
Wade staggered to his feet.
"All right. What a stubborn child..." Ms Paris said helplessly.
Wade looked toward the Senior's crystal coffin, his voice weak.
"Why are you still sleeping? Wake up and embrace the freedom you've dreamed of for so long... This is the air of freedom..."
The moment he finished speaking, a slender, pale hand slowly reached out from inside the coffin.
