Chapter 303 - Chapter 303: Please go ahead and do it!

After explaining the situation, Dumbledore said apologetically, "Wade, I'm very sorry to drag you out like this, but… you really are the last hope…"

"Please don't say that, Professor. A human life is above everything," Wade said calmly, now fully awake.

Wade did not have much of a relationship with Aurelius, but Dumbledore and Aberforth had both taken good care of him.

Emotionally and logically, he could not stand by and do nothing... he had to maintain this image.

"This is all my fault. I shouldn't have gone to see him. If I hadn't gone…"

"If you hadn't gone, he would only have died slowly in pain, carrying regrets to the end," Wade interrupted Nagini's self-reproach.

"Wade, do you have a way?" Dumbledore asked softly as he walked ahead.

Wade pondered for a moment, opened a bottle of Invigoration Draught, and drank it before saying, "I'm not sure yet… after all, I still don't know what condition Aurelius is in."

As they hurried out of the castle, they did not notice that at the end of a distant corridor, a figure was quietly watching their backs.

Hogsmeade was actually not far from Hogwarts.

And the stone house Aberforth had arranged for Aurelius was not far from Hogsmeade either.

So, as soon as they walked out of the school gates, Dumbledore grabbed Wade and Nagini by the hands and Apparated directly to the front of Aurelius' stone house.

"Wade… I…" As soon as Aberforth saw Wade, he walked over immediately.

The man who had always been strong was now crying like a helpless child.

Seeing him like this, Wade felt a sudden tremor in his heart.

Because he suddenly thought of his own situation…

If he were to disappear suddenly, would his family also cry helplessly like Aberforth?

"I know everything. I'll do my best…" Wade could only say this.

Then Wade walked into the stone house.

Aurelius lay on the bed, his body and face covered with bulging veins, his expression twisted and ferocious.

Anyone could tell that he was enduring pain far beyond what an ordinary person could withstand.

No Obscurial had ever lived as long as he had, so… no one knew how he had managed to hold on.

Nor did anyone know what kind of struggle he had gone through with the Obscurus inside his body.

With Wade' ability, it was easy for him to see that the magic within Aurelius was spiraling out of control.

Although the Obscurus had brought Aurelius a tremendous increase in magical power, now that it was out of control, it was inflicting pain of the same magnitude upon him.

Wade did not waste time. Nightmare magic surged from his wand like a tide and probed into Aurelius' body.

Before long, Wade frowned.

The situation was even more serious than he had imagined.

"We have to extract the Obscurus from his body." After a long moment, Wade withdrew the power of nightmare magic and said gravely, "Otherwise, he really will die."

Dumbledore sighed and said, "We all know that… but the power of the Obscurus is entangled with his own magic, constantly clashing with it. We simply have no way to extract the Obscurus under these circumstances. If we force it out, it might tear his soul apart."

In fact, no one could extract the power of an Obscurus from an Obscurial while they were still alive, because the two were originally one and the same.

As long as the host was alive, the Obscurus still had consciousness. And as long as it had consciousness, the Obscurus, possessing unimaginably powerful magic, would never allow itself to be calmly extracted from its host.

Only when the host died would the Obscurus simultaneously lose its will to resist, allowing others to extract it.

Newt had once extracted an Obscurus from an Obscurial who had already died…

"So… if we make the Obscurus lose its magic, there might be a way, right?" Wade said with a frown.

"You have a way to make it lose its magic?"

"There is one. But… I can't guarantee whether Aurelius can endure it. It's very dangerous."

"Now there's no other way left, Wade… we can't just stand by and watch him die like this…" Aberforth said sorrowfully. "If you have a way, then try it. No matter the outcome… I won't blame you."

Wade turned to look at Dumbledore and Nagini.

Nagini nodded. At this moment, she trusted Wade more than anyone else.

Dumbledore sighed and said, "If you have a method, then go ahead and try it. But I still have to ask you first: is your method dangerous for you? If it is, then tell me your idea and let me do it instead."

Wade shook his head and said, "For me, there's no danger. But… my method is something only I can use. It involves my special ability."

Hearing Wade say it was his special ability, Dumbledore immediately thought of ancient magic.

Could it be that Wade had already developed a new application of ancient magic on his own?

"In that case, go ahead and do it," Dumbledore said with a nod.

At this point, he no longer had time to ask what Wade' specific method was.

At this moment, Aurelius was barely hanging on, and there was no time left to delay. Wade had to act immediately.

Even if Wade's method failed, Aurelius would at least be freed from his suffering…

After receiving everyone's consent, Wade turned toward Aurelius, who lay unconscious on the bed.

However, with his back to the others, a trace of joy flashed in his eyes.

Why had Wade kidnapped Dementors in the first place? It was for the negative emotions within them.

And now, right before him, Aurelius' Obscurus was filled with violently raging negative emotions.

At this moment, Aurelius' reason was being assaulted by those negative emotions. Once his will was crushed, he would transform into an Obscurus that had completely lost its sanity, tearing every living being before him to pieces.

Only after exhausting all its strength would the Obscurus revert to its human form, then die together with its host.

To put it bluntly, in Wade's eyes right now, Aurelius was like a super humanoid panacea.

Wade roughly estimated that the negative emotions contained in this single Obscurus were at least equivalent to those within twenty fully fed Dementors.

What did it mean to be a great tonic?

Wade had not expected that just after harvesting a wave of negative emotions from Nagini's beast soul, he would so quickly encounter another enormous gain.

At the same time, he could not help but admire Aurelius' powerful will.

If it were not for Aurelius' consciousness still resisting until now, he would have lost control long ago.

With such willpower, it was no wonder he had managed to live longer than any other Obscurial.

Of course, how much pain he had endured in the process was truly beyond words.

However, Wade was not merely coveting the negative emotions within Aurelius.

It was precisely because of this characteristic of the Obscurus that it shared similarities with Nagini's beast soul.

In other words, as long as Wade extracted all the negative emotions from the Obscurus, it would temporarily lose its violent consciousness.

That way, he might truly be able to save Aurelius' life, just as he had done when treating Nagini.

Wade looked at Aurelius and drew his wand.
