Micah stared at the man walking toward him, each step closing the distance like the ticking of a countdown he could not stop.

Just seeing him made Micah's chest tighten. His fingers clenched around the front of Clyde's jacket so hard that the expensive fabric wrinkled under his grip. His throat was dry, his tongue glued to the roof of his mouth. He tried to speak, but nothing came out.
