Chapter 337 - Chapter 334: Card Games (X) Prophecy (√)

"First, I activate the Field Spell Card: Ur Faerie Realm (Pseudo)!

"While this card is face-up in the Spell & Trap Zone, it increases the Attack Power of my Servants by 500 and decreases the Attack Power of enemy Servants by 500. Also, once per turn, I can search my Deck for one Servant Card with 'Faerie Realm' in its name and add it to my hand."

A miniature Camelot rose behind Fairy Tristan. Behind its identical walls stood towering, modern-style buildings.

"I'll add myself to my hand!"

This search effect wasn't particularly useful for Fairy Tristan; it would have been far more effective for Morgan, Jiang You, or even Melusine. Still, adding a card to her hand was always an advantage.

"Is this the future Camelot?"

The bewildered fairies, combining this vision with Fairy Tristan's current public identity, made a reasonable guess. Given the current situation, it wasn't entirely impossible. They curiously touched the castle walls and discovered they weren't projections but solid, tangible structures.

"Next, I activate the Spell Card, Grudge Fusion! I send Fairy Knight Tristan and Cernunnos from my Deck to the Graveyard to Fusion Summon—Cait Cú MikoCer!"

The ground instantly transformed into a spongy sea. The Great Horned God rose from beneath Fairy Tristan's feet, carrying her into the Battle Zone with a slight forward shift of its body.

Fairy Tristan (Swimsuit)Attack Power: 3000

"!"

The fairies didn't recognize Cernunnos; to them, he was merely a colossal, immensely powerful creature. But Morgan was different. She knew the truth of this world. Did Cernunnos's actions mean he has forgiven the fairies?

Morgan's true body remained on her throne. After re-examining the Great Hole, she quickly dismissed the thought. The lingering resentment still swirled there, showing no signs of diminishing. Then this must be an event from the future. Fairy Tristan's title as the Child of Prophecy likely holds more weight than I imagined.

Morgan shifted her focus to Jiang You. She knew little about card games, and neither of them had fought at full strength during their duel. However, she understood the power of Great Cernunnos. Even with Baobhan Sith as the core, its strength would be terrifying. Against a mere Mors, there was no reason to lose.

Jiang You, on the other hand... He had defeated the Creator Mother Goddess and possessed such absurdly powerful Noble Phantasms. No matter how she looked at it, he couldn't be an ordinary Heroic Spirit. His apparent ignorance of spells was likely an act. This man is definitely hiding something.

For now, she needed to maintain a good relationship with him. Jiang You had come with goodwill, and it was only natural to reciprocate in kind.

"I activate my own effect! By discarding one card from my hand, I inflict 1000 Life Points of damage to the opponent! And thanks to the Field Spell Card's effect, I draw one more card from my Deck!"

In this form, Fairy Tristan could utterly dominate the Mors and win the duel with ease.

The problem, however, lay with Woodworth.

He stared at the Spell Card in his hand, cold sweat soaking his fur. He knew his Deck was composed of his past experiences and future. Since Her Majesty Morgan was sitting right here, alive and well, this card must depict a future event—a future he found utterly unacceptable.

The card showed an image of him piercing Morgan's heart with his own claws. In that moment, Morgan was merely touching his face with her hand. It was undeniably a scene of betrayal, yet Morgan, even in death, still looked at him with complete trust.

The Fang Clan possessed canine-like traits, showing absolute loyalty to the lords they acknowledged. Woodworth couldn't imagine his future self committing such a heinous, heartbreaking act. It violated his life's creed—and his very instincts

"What's wrong, Your Excellency, Duke Woodworth?"

A fairy quickly voiced their concern. During battles, Duke Woodworth had always been decisive and swift. His current hesitant demeanor clearly indicated something was wrong.

Woodworth felt his hands trembling. What should I do? Should I confess this future to Lady Morgan?

If he didn't, he would be tormented by his own loyalty for the rest of his days—an act tantamount to betrayal. But if he did confess, how would Lady Morgan view him, knowing he was capable of such a thing? Even if Her Majesty Morgan didn't mind, could he continue to serve her with a clear conscience as he had before?

For the first time, Woodworth felt he understood the Mirror Clan. Knowing a future one shouldn't know was truly terrifying.

"I..."

As Woodworth wrestled with his inner turmoil, Jiang You noticed his predicament. As Woodworth's teammate (temporarily on the same side), Jiang You could see his opponent's cards. Thus, he had a clear view of the card Woodworth was staring at.

The appearance of this card was good news for Jiang You. While Duke Woodworth's reputation couldn't match Aurora's, as a pragmatist focused on practical results, his words carried far more weight than Fairy Tristan's. With him as a witness, Aurora's chances would be completely crushed!

"Your Excellency, Duke Woodworth."

Jiang You stepped forward, drawing the Duke's attention.

"Are you feeling uncertain about the future?"

Woodworth's pupils constricted. He saw right through me. Now there was no escaping it. Her Majesty Morgan had always been deeply concerned about the existence of Prophecy; she would undoubtedly be curious about this. If Morgan questioned him, he would have no choice but to answer. He fixed his gaze on Jiang You and realized he had a faint memory of the man—they had even exchanged greetings when entering the venue earlier.

"You're the new Scribe Her Majesty appointed. You arrived in Oxford with the current Child of Prophecy, didn't you?"

That explained everything. Her Majesty Morgan had arranged for Jiang You to accompany Tristan. As the person closest to her, he would naturally have the clearest understanding of the Savior's abilities, second only to Fairy Tristan herself. It made perfect sense that he could discern Woodworth's state of mind.

"That's me. I'm glad you remember me, Your Excellency."

Jiang You began by clarifying his stance. "The cards only show possibilities of the future. The moment you see that future, many details begin to change. So, there's no need to be troubled by this. Moreover, the cards reveal crucial turning points, and they are highly interconnected. There must be other cards linked to this one. Don't you want to see what triggered the event—or outcome—that you find so incomprehensible?"

Woodworth's ears immediately perked up. He's right. Everything has a cause. He had to see why he would do such a thing!

Aurora felt a sudden, inexplicable sense of dread.
