On Sunday, Axel came to Drip Point rather early, right after breakfast. The main reason was, of course, that he wanted to explain himself and clear the air as soon as possible, but on top of that, he tried to do what he thought would be the most convenient for River. Since the Beta had asked him to meet in the coffee shop, he might be working, and if so, it was best for Axel to come when the shop was unlikely to be too busy. Naturally, it could very well be that River simply didn't want to go out, either because he was annoyed with Axel or still feeling unwell, but… Just in case, Axel planned around the former.
His guess turned out to be correct, as the moment he stepped into Drip Point, he saw River peek from behind the counter. Still with a face mask on, still looking unwell, with his face pale and his black eyes reddened and hazy.
"Hi! You're early," he welcomed Axel.
"Yes, well… I've sent you a message."
"Ah, sorry. I didn't see it."
