Compared to Daxton's carefree attitude and some childishness, Jacob Fletcher was indeed more mature and steady.
"Thank you," Dorian said, "But you two really surprised me." After all, this was something he hadn't anticipated before.
"But you seemed to accept it rather quickly. We were initially worried you might not be able to accept our situation," Jacob said.
"There's nothing unacceptable about it," Dorian responded, "It's just that the person you fell in love with happens to be of the same gender. If Alice were a man, I think I'd still love her just the same."
Alice Conley was taken aback, surprised that Dorian would say something like that. Daxton and Jacob were also surprised, and... grateful.
Grateful for the understanding, given that many people had looked at their relationship with strange eyes. To them, others' lack of understanding had almost become normal.
Moreover, from his expression and eyes, it didn't seem like a lie.
