"Uncle, what's wrong?" Edward's unusual demeanor made Mabel a bit uneasy. "What exactly is this badge? Does it have any significance?" She felt that Edward's strange behavior seemed to be tied to the badge.
"Do you know when your birthday is?" Edward asked.
Mabel was taken aback, "It's June 29th. Uncle, why are you asking this? Does the badge have some special meaning? Could it be...related to my biological parents?" Otherwise, why would Uncle inquire about her birthday out of the blue?
"June 29th?" It was half a month earlier than the day when Clover gave birth to her first stillborn child. What was he thinking? "Is this birthday the day your father found you?" he asked.
