In the small courtyard of Violet Zimmerman's residence, Daxton Lancaster stood with his hands behind his back, silhouetted against the light. His gray wool coat was draped over his shoulders, and in the gloomy night, Daxton's expression was colder than the darkness.
Opposite him, Blair Williams continued to babble incessantly with her petty report. The foolish woman hadn't noticed how unpleasant Daxton's expression was.
After reporting Violet Zimmerman's nightly visits to Joseph Lancaster's residence, Blair adopted a sycophantic demeanor, seemingly awaiting praise from the Family Head.
"Who else have you told about this?" Daxton asked expressionlessly.
Blair maintained her sycophantic manner, saying, "Family Head, I wouldn't dare speak carelessly about such a matter. Besides you, I haven't told anyone."
Daxton observed that she didn't seem to be lying, and, moreover, a servant wouldn't dare deceive him.
"Hmm," Joseph responded with little emotion, uttering only a single "hmm."
