The space in front of Rael cracked, revealing several layers of the Spirit Realm, including the ones down below.
But more importantly, each of the layers seemed to pulse out different types of mana signatures, all of which overloaded Rael's senses and canceled out his Foresight.
Using that gap in which Rael's senses were disturbed, the Spirit Emperor vanished out of sight and reappeared behind Rael, then slashed at his back.
Since Rael couldn't react, the slash pierced straight through his skin and severed his spine in two.
The pain was nothing like what he had ever felt before.
It wasn't terrible per se... But after enduring the staircase, Rael knew that this pain was not physical... but spiritual.
All this scorching pain and numbness he felt was coming from his soul.
Reacting as fast as he could, Rael dashed away, only to be stopped by the Spirit Emperor's blade right at his back.
He moved faster than Rael could react.
