Sam noticed Violet's brief fascination before walking up to her halfway through Sebastian's filming to nudge her. It startled her out of her fangirl mode before noticing it was Sam, which got her instantly agitated.
What were you thinking, Violet?! You're supposed to be angry at them both. She scolded herself before walking away as Sam chased her.
"Don't come…" She warned him while turning slightly with a finger pointed at him.
"I'm just trying to check if you're well," Sam said quickly.
"Yes." She said sternly as he stopped chasing. He knew she was still pissed, and there was no way to get through to her till she was satisfied.
She didn't know where to go when everyone was on the filming set. Though she wanted to enjoy more of Sebastian's dashing look and acting, she was beginning to feel her fever brewing back again. That's when she realised it was close to mid-afternoon. Setting up a filming session sure took a long while, but fortunately, they didn't have to shoot too many takes cause this team of actors was experienced.
While she rested by the pantry with a cup of warm tea, the work tablet popped up with an additional prop that was required for the night filming. She looked around for Fang Li, but she was busy making several phone calls in a frantic manner. Violet wondered what the urgency was and decided to be a nice person just for this time as she headed into the store to look for the item.
Sebastian, while acting, was distracted the moment he saw Violet being chased by Sam. Because of multiple mistakes in different takes, the director called for a break.
"Seb, you're alright?" The director asked as Sebastian closed his eyes to clear his thoughts and nodded.
"Didn't sleep well. Sorry…" He lied.
"Go ahead, freshen up… We will proceed in half an hour. Maybe you had drunk too much from the whiskey in the prop." The director laughed when Sebastian realised he might be right, cause the whiskey was supposed to be replaced by tea, but he tasted the complexity of the whiskey's malt.
Sebastian stepped closer to whisper to the director. "Could you get someone to check on the drink?" The director instantly understood something might have gone wrong with the props.
Wayne came by and interrupted them. "Director, why is there a last-minute change?" His question made both of them frown as he stepped closer and gathered everyone in a circle.
"There should not be a drink in the scene… Though they met for intels but the drinks weren't supposed to be served." He pointed out.
The Director nodded, assuring everyone it would be taken care of before Sebastian walked towards the make-up tent while Wayne went to look for Pei Li to freshen up.
That's where Sebastian noticed Violet was entering the store where the props were kept. He hastened his steps and followed her in, wanting to talk to her for a bit.
Probably due to the wind blowing, bringing cloudy clouds, Violet began to feel the shiver from her fever again. She struggled to walk from shelf to shelf, looking for the item needed. Sebastian was looking for her among the shelves when the rain started pouring. Because everyone had to protect the equipment and props, one of the workers quickly locked up the store.
Violet was relying on the light from the main door to search for the prop in the midst of her headache, and she didn't notice Sebastian was inside. Only when the loud bang from the main door being locked and the lights were dimming did she realise she was being locked inside.
Violet panicked as she struggled to make her way to the door, only to find Sebastian staring back at her, equally taken aback by their situation. The rain was overpowering his banging sound, and he realised it was pointless to call for help that way.
"What… What are you… Doing here?" Violet stuttered while enduring her muscles aching as she hunched her back, and Sebastian rushed to hold her.
He could feel the heat from her body, so he quickly took off his jacket to wrap it around her.
"Don't… Don't… You need to get out of… Here…" Violet was getting weaker as she had no choice but to lean on Sebastian.
"Listen for once… We are locked inside, and the rain is too loud for anyone to hear us calling for help…" Sebastian said before taking the tablet from her hand.
"No… Don't. The prop… You need to go back to act… You can't be this close to me. I'm sick…" She tried pushing him away, but she had no strength as he held her tightly.
He smiled, carrying her to the corner of the store where the electric warmer was.
"We are on a break, plus it's raining… No one can hear us…" He tried to comfort her.
He smiled sadly at her exhausted face, though he was grateful for being able to hold her again. He didn't want to leave the store, though he knew he should call for help, seeing how weak she was.
"Leave…" She tried again to push him away, but his warmth was too comforting.
"You might fall sick too…" It took her a long time to gather some energy to say that full line to him.
"Then so be it…" He hugged her even tighter.
"Seb…" She let a sob escape instead, feeling his genuine feelings again, but she forced herself to push him away weakly to no avail.
"Stay put… Listen to me." He instructed sternly.
No, stop lying to yourself. He meant what he said in the morning. Violet told herself firmly.
She opened her eyes and stared directly at his gaze with intense anger. Seeing he wasn't letting go, she gathered the last bit of strength to break away from him.
"You said not to come close. You push me away…" Violet began to sob, recalling how hurtful it was as she walked away weakly from him, but he caught up with her.
"I'm sorry I had to…" He wanted to explain, but she interrupted even more.
"I came back… I miss you… I wanted to see you the first thing, but…" Violet choked on her sob as he tried to hold onto her shoulders, but she resisted.
"I couldn't even decide whose house to sleep…" Violet mumbled the last line before hugging herself from a shiver and squatted.
What he just heard broke his heart as he squatted and hugged her instead.
"Where did you sleep two nights ago?" Sebastian pestered.
"Why do you care? You said not to care bout you. You should do the same!" Even when she was so weak, barely being able to keep her eyes open, she was still fighting with him in a softer, angry tone.
It smittened Sebastian that he couldn't help but kiss her forehead.
"I'm sorry…" He apologised as she wanted to hit his chest, but ended up grabbing his collar while enduring her headache as he hugged her tighter.
"I know the reason you do this is to protect me… But didn't we promise… Even that promise…" Violet was out of breath as she held on to him tightly. He panicked, knowing she was enduring to her limit.
"Did you bring your phone?" He asked urgently as Violet struggled to open her eyes. She reached for it in her pocket and passed it to him before he called Sam.
"Where are you, Vi?! It's raining! You'd better keep yourself dry!" Sam bellowed.
"She's with me…" Sebastian said, which startled Sam.
"You! Everyone is looking for you!" Sam bellowed again.
"We got locked inside the prop store…" With that, they hung up as Violet began to shiver even more.
"You need to get to the hospital, Vi…" Sebastian said worriedly.
"No…" She didn't want that moment to end with him, but she knew she had no choice as she sobbed while whimpering, not knowing which pain was harder to endure.
It didn't take Sam long to come and unlock the door with one of the workers. Sam could tell the reluctance of Sebastian to part with Violet, but he assured Sebastian that Violet would be taken care of before sending her to the nearest hospital.
Filming was postponed to the next day as the crew prepared for the night shooting, but hoping for the rain to subside. Wayne managed to catch up with Sebastian in private, leaving Pei Li to prepare arrangements for the night filming.
"What happened? You look flabbergasted, and so was Sam!" Wayne jogged up to Sebastian, who was still trying to keep his composure as Wayne pulled him to a side.
"It's not too loud here. Come on, tell." Wayne pestered as Sebastian explained the whole incident, which took Wayne offguard.
"That's nasty… I'm sure it's just an accident. The sudden downpour was unpredictable too…" Wayne tried comforting Sebastian, who shook his head.
"Everything seems to be something, bro… Even the drink incident." Sebastian pointed out.
"Without Violet, things are getting strange… Why don't you…" Wayne wanted to suggest putting Violet in charge, but Sebastian hushed him with a finger over his lips.
"Tell Pei Li to be careful too…" Sebastian whispered.
"I will get her to watch over your stuff as much as she can…" Wayne suggested as Sebastian nodded slightly.
"I will be fine…" He mumbled as an incoming text message came.
Come meet me in the old place as usual. Tomorrow, 4 pm. If you don't turn up, I will ensure you're in the limelight you love as always.
Sebastian sighed even more when reading the message from Janice. He knew she would know he was on a tight filming schedule, but he didn't expect her to know his schedule to the dot. He was scheduled for an afternoon magazine shooting in town near the restaurant they used to frequent while being together.
Sebastian wondered if Fang Li had been colliding with Janice. His suspicions of Fang Li kept growing, but one thing he was at ease with was that Violet was in safe hands.
