Tokyo Police Department — Operations Center
(A few moments earlier)
The place was filled with panic as phones rang like alarm bells and officers scrambled through the aisles as screaming higher-ups fueled the raging firestorm.
"Fix this NOW or our public trust drops to absolute zero!" a Chief shouted into a receiver, slamming his fist onto a desk. "Cover our asses, protect the department's reputation, and put that goddamn lunatic child in the ground! Save those hostages at all costs!"
Those were the orders. But the police were being played like cheap violins by Weekend and they knew it.
Weekend had broadcasted his exact coordinates to the world, but he'd given them instructions: step within a two-hundred-meter radius without the mysterious man who can control monsters and every single hostage gets executed on camera.
