Yep, I decided to cancel this.
The reason is pretty simple: everything started to feel monotonous. The Harry Potter world is one of my favorites, without a doubt, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. The problem was the smut. Writing so many sex scenes... I started to feel like nothing really changed. It became a matter of finding the 101st different way to have sex, and I got tired of it.
Seriously, I have nothing but respect for smut writers. I just don't want to write it anymore.
I spent a long time stuck trying to figure out what to do with this fanfic. I feel like part of the long break I took from both stories happened because of this fic, along with some personal issues. I would try to think of a chapter and come up with nothing. Even when I tried to work on the ASOIAF fanfic, part of my mind was still trying to figure out what I could write for this one.
In the end, I decided to cancel it for that reason. My brain simply doesn't have anything left for this story in its current form.
As for whether I'll ever continue it in the future, I'm 99% sure I won't. What I am leaving open for the future is the possibility of a rewrite, one without smut, or with very little of it.
There are things I genuinely like about this story, and I think some of its ideas have a lot of potential. But the smut kept limiting me because I was constantly thinking, "I need to write another porn scene every few chapters."
And honestly, I think 177 chapters is a little too late to completely change the structure of the story. That's why I've thought about doing a rewrite instead, but that's something for the future.
At the end I uploaded all the chapters unpublished.
If there is a rewrite in the future, I will advise in this fic...
