At the same time.
Inside the train station where the Government's special Sea Train line was docked.
A luxurious chair and table had been set up beside the train at some point. The tabletop was covered with various drinks and snacks.
CP9 commander Spandam was currently lounging in the chair with his legs propped up on the table, waiting for good news from his subordinates.
Around him, numerous Government agents in black suits and sunglasses stood guard. These men vigilantly watched their surroundings, clearly well-trained.
Just then, a Government messenger came sprinting frantically into the station, stumbling and nearly crawling as he entered.
Seeing this, Spandam immediately lowered his legs. With an expectant look on his face, he asked:
"How is it? Have the CP9 guys finished carrying out the plan?!"
"No… it's not that…"
The messenger braced himself against his knees, panting heavily, and waved his hand quickly. After catching his breath, he reported in a hurried, panicked tone:
"All CP9 members in Water 7 have been defeated!"
"What did you say?!"
Spandam's expression changed drastically. He shot to his feet, slamming his hands on the table as he shouted in disbelief:
"Impossible! That's absolutely impossible!"
"Those CP9 guys are invincible here! No one could possibly defeat them!"
"And all of them?!"
He pointed furiously at the messenger, his face twisted with rage:
"You bastard! How dare you come here and feed me false information?!"
"Someone! Drag this damned fool away and execute him on the spot!"
Without waiting for a response, Spandam ignored the messenger and hurriedly opened a nearby drawer. He pulled out a Den Den Mushi, clearly intending to contact the CP9 members himself for confirmation.
"Huh?!"
The messenger turned pale with fright. He froze on the spot, too stunned to even mention that the CP9 members were already heading this way.
The other Government agents nearby exchanged uneasy glances, unsure how to proceed. Although Spandam was their superior, he didn't actually have the authority to execute fellow Government personnel on a whim.
The moment Spandam dialed the number—
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh—!!!
Seven rapidly moving figures suddenly dropped from the sky, landing in a perfect encirclement around Spandam beside the table.
Burururu— Burururu— Burururu—
At that exact moment, the sound of a Den Den Mushi rang out.
Owl was startled for a second, then casually pulled a Den Den Mushi from his pocket and answered:
"Hello? Who is it?"
Spandam, still somewhat dazed, heard the same ringtone coming from both the receiver in his hand and from the side. He subconsciously replied:
"Hello, it's me, Spandam…"
"Chababa! So it's you, you useless piece of trash. We were just coming to take care of you."
Because his mouth zipper was open, Owl blurted out exactly what he was thinking. The moment the words left his mouth, he realized his mistake and quickly covered it with his hand.
"Oh no, I spoke out of turn again."
He hurriedly hung up and tossed the Den Den Mushi aside.
"You idiot! Zip your mouth already!" Jabra nearby scowled and scolded him loudly.
Owl quickly zipped his mouth shut and gave an 'OK' gesture.
"You… you all…"
Spandam was drenched in cold sweat. The receiver slipped from his left hand as his right hand instinctively moved toward the sword at his waist.
"You guys! How dare you attack me?! Are you trying to make enemies of the World Government?!"
He still didn't understand what was happening, but he knew Owl couldn't keep a secret to save his life. That was exactly why his mouth had been fitted with a zipper in the first place.
Lucci stood with his hands in his pockets, his expression calm and cold. Ignoring Spandam's outburst, he ordered:
"Attack together. Finish him."
As soon as he finished speaking, Lucci was the first to move. He swung his leg forward fiercely.
"Rankyaku—!"
The other CP9 members immediately followed suit, kicking out almost simultaneously toward Spandam.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—!!!
Seven light-blue, crescent-shaped slashes tore through the air, hurtling straight at Spandam in the center.
In that life-or-death moment, Spandam's survival instinct exploded. He swiftly drew the sword from his waist and screamed:
"Funkfreed—!!"
The ordinary-looking blade instantly transformed into an elephant with a sword for a nose and two sharp tusks. The massive elephant expanded outward, completely enveloping Spandam.
The seven slashes struck the elephant at the same time.
Crack, crack, crack—!!!
A series of cutting sounds rang out as countless wounds appeared across the elephant's body. It collapsed heavily to the ground, clearly incapacitated.
Drenched in cold sweat, Spandam, trembling with terror, immediately pulled out a special golden Den Den Mushi from his pocket.
In a panic, he held it up with shaking hands and roared:
"You bastards! If you make another move, I'll press it right now!"
"We'll all die here together!"
However, the reaction from everyone present was completely different from what he expected. Instead of fear or nervousness, they looked utterly shocked.
Lucci's previously calm face instantly darkened.
Jabra, standing nearby, couldn't help but curse angrily:
"You worthless piece of shit! If you're going to threaten someone, do it properly! Why the hell are your hands shaking?!"
"Huh?"
Only then did Spandam notice something was wrong. He brought the golden Den Den Mushi closer to look.
In the next second, his eyes widened in horror as he stared at his own thumb, already pressed firmly on the button. His jaw nearly hit the floor.
"This… this… I… how did I just press it—!!"
The button on the golden Den Den Mushi had been activated. The terrifying "Buster Call" had now been accidentally triggered by him. The ultimate trump card he planned to use for intimidation had become nothing more than a useless golden shell.
Realizing this, Spandam was so terrified that snot dripped from his nose. He felt like he was going to collapse.
Seeing the dire situation, he immediately plastered an extremely fawning smile on his face and looked at the grim-faced CP9 members.
"Um… you all remember that meal I treated you to before, right?"
"I don't know what happened, but as long as you let me go, I promise I won't—"
Before he could finish, Lucci coldly cut him off:
"Kill him."
The moment the words left his mouth, the CP9 members surrounding Spandam vanished from their positions. They reappeared simultaneously in the center and thrust their index fingers forward with lethal force.
"Finger Pistol—!!"
Thump! Thud! Thump! Thud!
A series of chilling stabbing sounds rang out continuously.
By the time Lucci and the others stepped back, Spandam was riddled with holes, bleeding profusely. He collapsed to his knees, head tilted back.
As he coughed up blood, on the verge of death, a tall figure accompanied by a woman suddenly appeared before him.
"Nico… Robin…?!!"
Blood spilled from Spandam's mouth as he used his final breath to gasp in shock, eyes wide.
Looking at the son of her enemy dying before her, Robin felt a sense of satisfaction mixed with a strange melancholy.
Will, standing beside her, had no interest in wasting more time. He simply flicked his finger, launching an air bullet.
Whoosh—!
In an instant, Spandam's head was blown apart. He fell backward onto the ground, his breath fading rapidly.
The golden Den Den Mushi, symbol of his power, slipped from his hand and clattered to the floor.
Upon seeing Will appear, Lucci immediately spoke in a steady voice:
"Sorry. We were careless just now. We didn't expect that useless fool to—"
His words trailed off. He wasn't sure how to describe it.
"Forget it. It wasn't intentional," Will replied. Even he hadn't expected the man to accidentally press the button after pulling it out.
"So, should we take care of all these people around here too?" Owl couldn't resist speaking again. He unzipped his mouth and asked.
"Huh?!"
The nearby Government agents immediately showed expressions of pure terror. They knew any single CP9 member could slaughter them effortlessly.
"No need. You guys are too slow—let me handle it."
Since the main target, Spandam, was already dead, Will had no desire to waste any more time. As soon as he finished speaking, two red lights flashed in his eyes.
The next second—
Whoosh—!
An incredibly vast aura erupted from Will's body and swept across the entire station at terrifying speed.
Crash—!
All the glass in the area shattered simultaneously. Cracks spiderwebbed across the ground and walls.
Every Government agent inside the station rolled their eyes back and collapsed, foaming at the mouth.
Even the metal Sea Train nearby let out continuous, groaning creaks.
At that moment, aside from Robin and Eneru—who was sitting on a nearby rooftop—the other CP9 members felt as if a massive mountain had been dropped onto their shoulders. The overwhelming pressure made it impossible for them to move.
"Indeed…!" Lucci's muscles bulged as he grit his teeth and endured the pressure. His earlier speculation was instantly confirmed.
"Is this… Conqueror's Haki…?!!"
Kaku and the others nearby also thought of this astonishing possibility. Since they had never witnessed it before, they still couldn't fully believe it.
After sensing that all the Government personnel had collapsed, Will quickly withdrew his Haki. He looked around at the devastated scene with a thoughtful expression.
He had always felt the Haki within his body growing stronger every day. As a result, he had failed to perfectly control the intensity he released just now, causing widespread destruction and even subjecting Lucci and the others to some of the pressure.
However, seeing how these former CP9 members now looked at him with noticeably greater "respect," Will figured giving them a taste of his Haki wasn't such a bad thing.
At the same time, he could use this opportunity to have them do one more task for him.
Thinking this, Will turned to Lucci and the others. Seeing their slightly nervous eyes, he gave them a benevolent smile.
"Don't worry. I always keep my promises. I said I would let you go, and I won't go back on my word."
Just as the CP9 members secretly breathed a sigh of relief, he continued:
"But aside from that, I have another, far more worthwhile deal. I wonder if you'd be interested."
"What deal?" Lucci asked, frowning slightly.
Will didn't play games and smiled directly:
"You all saw the power I used just now. I don't know if you've heard of it or encountered it before, but it's called Haki."
Seeing they didn't look confused, he nodded in satisfaction.
"Very good. It seems you already know about it, so that saves me a lot of explanation."
He got straight to the point:
"The deal is simple. Take this Sea Train to Enies Lobby and help me destroy it. Any treasures or spoils you find there are yours—I don't want a single coin."
"When you return, I will teach you the training methods for Armament Haki and Observation Haki out of the three types."
"As for Conqueror's Haki, I'll explain it too, but that power is entirely innate. It cannot be trained. So in the end, it will depend on whether you possess the aptitude for it."
"What did you say? You'll teach us Haki?!"
Kalifa, Jabra, and the others couldn't hide their shocked expressions.
After all, the three types of Haki were powers that even CP9 members had no access to. All they could train was the Six Powers, which had some indirect connection to Haki. Even as the elite of the elite, they only knew of Haki's existence but had no way to learn it.
To obtain and master Haki, one would normally need to be chosen for the World Government's most mysterious unit—CP0.
And that was extremely difficult.
