Chapter 135 - Chapter 137: Summer Vacation Routine

In the days that followed, Ryan began to slowly digest the gains he had obtained this time. Additionally, some magics that couldn't be released before due to insufficient magic power were also tested. Stunning spells, bubble head spells, and other magics were released very smoothly. However, there was a small problem when experimenting with the Fiery Fire spell he acquired in Iceland last time. Ryan found that even if he completely grasped the principle of the Fiery Fire spell, he still had an issue: he could only release the anti-curse of the Fiery Fire Curse, and not even a trace of Fiery Fire could be emitted from the wand.

This was the price of accepting the baptism of nature last time—being unable to release magics purely for destruction. But the price was acceptable compared to what he gained for himself.

After discovering that he couldn't learn to be fierce, Ryan chose to strengthen his study of thunder law. After all, once mastered, the power of thunder law was no less than that of Fiery Fire.

The days that followed were spent doing homework and practicing magic. He also received several letters in the meantime, including postcards and greetings from Daisy from France, various experimental data needing analysis and discussions about new products sent by the Tim Hortans twins, and the strangest of all—greetings from Williams.

Most likely because of Ryan's reminder to Williams in the used bookstore last year, Williams, who became the student council president this year, suddenly sent Ryan a letter to inform him of his new position and asked if Ryan could offer some valuable opinions.

Because Ryan had recently become a militia general in the Fallout world and even took time off during the summer vacation to deal with matters in that world, he incorporated a lot of his own experience and insights on management into his reply to Williams.

Williams originally just wanted to ask an acquaintance and show off that he was the president of the student union. He didn't expect Ryan, who was only in his third year, to provide anything of value. As a result, after reading Ryan's letter, he found that the help Ryan could provide was far beyond his expectations.

So afterward, he sent several letters, slowly asking Ryan some questions he hadn't figured out before. With Ryan's perfect answers to his questions every time (managing a few hundred students is much easier than managing an armed organization with thousands of people), Williams and Ryan gradually became familiar with each other.

The reason Ryan answered Williams's questions so seriously was because he felt that the Smith family in the original text were all good people. At the same time, he hoped that as a Catholic wizard, he could get to know a good acquaintance in the future Ministry of Magic. So he tried to save Williams from a detour in the future.

According to Ryan's analysis, the reason why Williams broke with the family in the original text was because the Smith family, or more precisely, the Oden Smith family, had no political heritage at all. This led to Williams picking the wrong side many times. What Ryan had to do now was help Williams make up for this shortcoming and, at the same time, mix in some private goods that wouldn't be detrimental to Williams to cultivate allies for himself.

After more than a month of this kind of day, Ryan suddenly received several letters one day. Among them, Williams and the Tim Hortans twins sent letters, respectively, telling Ryan that their father had won the jackpot, so the family was going to Egypt for vacation until school started. They could only return to the UK a week before school, so they probably wouldn't be able to communicate with Ryan during this time.

Daisy sent a letter from France, reminding Ryan, as a classmate who had a good relationship with Harry, that Harry needed to prepare some gifts for his birthday. She was going to give Harry a set of "The Best of the Century: 10 Quidditch Players' Tactics on the Field" bought in France.

At the end of the letter, she told Ryan that she would be returning to England this week and had discovered a lot of interesting magic in France, so she revised his paper to include the new findings.

"Is this the study of the gods? Even on vacation, she's thinking about her studies," Ryan thought, beginning to review his attitude towards learning. But soon, he turned his attention to the last letter—a letter from Hogwarts. On one hand, it told Ryan that as an exchange student, he needed to purchase items in advance and then gather at Platform 9 and 3/4 at 11:00 a.m. on August 27th to go to Castro Brusso School of Magic.

The other piece of paper was permission to go to Hogsmeade, which required his parents' signature. Ryan took this piece of paper and knocked on the door of his father's study. After reading the chapter, Mr. Oden Smith signed himself in cursive and complained to Ryan: "My first adventure series was a big hit, so I hope to write this into a series. But I've been out of inspiration these days. Son, you're a wizard; is there any story that can help me find inspiration?"

"Inspiration?" Thinking of this, Ryan suddenly recalled a suspected treasure location that Nick told him. So he told his father about it.

"Yeah, ghost, treasure—this is a really good idea. I think I was just imagining how to hunt for treasure before, so I ran out of inspiration. Now I think I may need to actually hunt for treasure to find my inspiration. Maybe I can find a huge treasure." After speaking, Mr. Oden Smith stood up abruptly, seemingly wanting to start treasure hunting immediately.

Ryan looked helplessly at his excited father. As a writer, Mr. Oden Smith did sometimes seem too naive. Of course, perhaps it was precisely because of this innocent heart that he could achieve so much in this regard. However, as a son, at this time, he needed to make some reasonable suggestions to avoid screwing things up.

"Dad, I think we should at least prepare for it. Are you going to go there with your bare hands and plan with your hands? Not to mention that we don't know who the land belongs to now. We can't go to someone else's private land and dig around."

"Well, you're right; I'm a little reckless." Mr. Oden Smith also calmed down at this time. "I'll go shopping for something in the next two days, and then let's find out who owns the land together. Remember, don't tell your mother about this; I'm afraid she'll stop us from going out."

That night, when the mother, Ms. Sally, came back from work at the hospital, she happened to meet Mr. Oden Smith returning home with a metal detector and a shovel he had just bought. After a simple inquiry, Mr. Oden Smith relented and explained his purpose. Subsequently, the number of adventurers changed from the originally planned two to three.

"I always wanted to go on an adventure when I was a kid, but it was a pity that I found out that such things are very rare, so I gave up. As a result, this time I really have the opportunity to go out on an adventure and hunt for treasures. You two actually want to hide this from me." At dinner time, Sally brought food
