Four days after the station and the prison went home, the school felt quiet again.
The training didn't stop. Jin made sure of that. Every morning the captains took their people out to the yard and the forest, and every morning Jin, Seul, Joon and Echo walked out the gate and kept walking until there was nothing around them but broken road and empty buildings.
They used a stretch of the old main road a few blocks east, where four lanes of cracked asphalt ran between office towers that had lost most of their glass on the first day. Cars still sat where people had left them, rusted and flattened by things nobody had bothered to name. There was room to run here, room to fall, and nothing that would be missed if it broke.
