Chapter 304 - Surpassing Everything

These purple wings of light stretched a thousand meters, but in the blink of an eye they swiftly contracted to nearly ten meters in length. Then, with a folding motion, the wings enclosed the inverse Nia Honjo at their center. At that moment, the massive beam of energy struck the purple wings.

Boom! A violent explosion erupted, and towering flames surged in all directions. Yet even this terrifying cannon blast wasn't enough to break through the purple wings. As time passed, and with the battleship destroyed, the energy finally depleted and came to a halt.

Then, everyone saw Tohka, wearing an even more gorgeous suit of armor, standing midair. The purple wings were unfurled from her back. At the same time, the inverse Nia Honjo was cradled in her arms like a princess, though judging by her appearance, she was already suppressed.

"Don't worry. I understand your pain." Glancing at the now fully subdued Nia, who couldn't move at all, Tohka lowered her head and quietly said, "Watch closely. I will avenge you."

As for why Nia was so docile, it was mainly because Tohka had forcibly broken through the space her Demon King power constructed. As a result, she had suffered damage herself, and being so close to Tohka's overwhelming spiritual energy left her completely unable to move.

"Westcott—looks like your plan has already failed. So, I'll ask you… to die here completely." Casting her gaze to the stiff, frozen Westcott not far away, Tohka let out a cold laugh. Then, one hand still holding Nia, she gripped Sandalphon with the other and charged straight toward him.

"Damn it." Nearby, Ellen and Artemisia Bell Ashcroft realized what was happening. They understood how terrifying Tohka was now. The two of them instantly forced Origami and Mana back by taking blows in exchange for freedom, then lunged toward Tohka. Both of them took sword wounds across their backs, but it was worth it to break away.

But even so, compared to Tohka, now empowered by the Kabbalah Tree of Life, the two were still utterly insignificant. The purple wings on Tohka's back gave a slight flutter, and in that instant, countless feathers materialized in the air. The two of them crashed right into them, and were instantly blasted apart, falling from the sky covered in wounds, their fate unknown.

Westcott, however, wasn't so lucky. With Tohka locking onto him, he had no chance to evade. All he could do was swing his weapon with his one remaining arm and meet Tohka's Sandalphon head-on. Unfortunately, in his current state, he couldn't even survive a single exchange. Man and weapon were both cleaved in two, and the sweeping sword energy swallowed him whole, erasing him from the sky. The man who had once summoned the First Spirit vanished once again.

Huff. In Tohka's arms, the inverse Nia Honjo finally closed her eyes and lost consciousness. But the aura around her gradually returned to normal, clearly indicating she had emerged from the so-called reversal state.

...

After that, nothing major happened. Tohka swiftly carried Nia away and returned home. Kurumi, of course, had noticed all this and soon arrived as well. After learning the truth about the First Spirit from Nia and realizing she could never defeat that being at full power, she shifted her focus to the three people who had summoned the First Spirit.

But Tohka stopped her. She knew Kurumi would never let go of this. So, while things were still calm, she decided to help Kurumi settle everything once and for all. It was actually quite simple. After obtaining Nia's power, Tohka went to find Reine Murasame. That woman, perhaps feeling that her greatest enemy was gone, told everything to Shido and Kotori. Tohka also used this opportunity, and in exchange for Nia's cooperation, extracted the massive spiritual power of Yoshino and the others from Shido's body. But even that wasn't the end. Tohka then flew alone into space. Using her Spirit senses, she located the last Spirit drifting there—the first to be observed after the First Spirit, Hoshimiya Mukuro.

After a bout of "friendly" discussion, Tohka took Mukuro's power after beating her down. Thus, the Tree of Life was fully unsealed, and Tohka herself obtained all the Spirits' abilities—and a power that surpassed this world itself.

But right then, Tohka immediately returned to Tengu City and found Kurumi waiting there. She extracted Kurumi's origin power and used her own strength to repair and restore it. Then, she completely lowered her guard and let Kurumi devour as much of her time as she pleased. Unfortunately, her power was too vast. In the end, Kurumi practically overstuffed herself, yet Tohka's time continued to flow ceaselessly, without diminishing at all.

After shooting Tohka a look like she was some kind of monster, Kurumi didn't hesitate—she used her Twelfth Bullet to return to the past. But as for Tohka, she noticed Kurumi never came back. She wasn't worried. Back then, before any magical system had been established, Kurumi—wielding vast amounts of time—would be virtually invincible. In other words, she almost couldn't fail. Yet the current world hadn't changed in the slightest. As for the reason, Tohka could already guess.

Later, she returned home to help Miku, the Yamai sisters, and Nia recover all their power. The portion she'd gotten from Kurumi, she simply gifted to Shido as a small favor. After all, she planned to leave this world. Though she wasn't afraid of Reine, she didn't want to provoke her unnecessarily and cause any extra trouble.

And so, Tohka took everyone and departed from this world. However, she didn't return to Marvel right away. Instead, she used her strength to shatter this world's boundaries, slipping into a parallel world where she found the missing Kurumi.

Unquestionably, Kurumi had succeeded. But this time, her actions exceeded the world's ability to self-correct. Three people died, and the First Spirit ceased to exist. From that moment on, this world diverged toward an entirely different path. Kurumi herself returned alone—thirty years later—to a Tengu City that looked the same but felt utterly unfamiliar. As she felt her spiritual power drain away and her existence gradually fading, Tohka appeared with everyone by her side and restored her strength.

This time, when Tohka extended her invitation, Kurumi didn't refuse. Her wish had been fulfilled. Though the main world hadn't changed, she had created an entirely separate world without Spirits. So, she simply joined Tohka on an endless journey across worlds.

What happened after that was obvious. Tohka took her companions and began an uninterrupted adventure. Relying on the Kabbalah Tree of Life, she even shaped a body for her inverse self—though without the Tree, the Inverse Tohka could never match her.

Of course, the worlds she traveled weren't limited to just Marvel. In fact, she now rivaled the OAA in some respects. Even the OAA couldn't truly constrain her wanderings. As long as she didn't cause destruction in "her" Marvel world, everything else was fair game. Not that Tohka was the sort to go around causing chaos anyway. In short, that's how it was.

(The whole story is done.)

It's finished. This book is complete. Not much else to say—I just hammered out five chapters in one go. I'm going to take a break, and I'll share my thoughts later.
