Trapped here and still so arrogant, Zachary was too prideful; today she must thoroughly deflate his arrogance to avenge being extorted by him that day.

She might not be a Dragon Proud Heaven, but her pride was no less than one. Having been in Galan for so long, Zachary was still the first person who dared to wave his fist and say he'd smash her head in.

Luo Wei held grudges. Although sometimes she couldn't settle them on the spot, sooner or later she would make those who offended her pay the price.

From their brief chat just now, she had noticed: Zachary blinked frequently and reacted slowly. He was already at the end of his rope, not worth fearing.

"Patrick, go!"

At Luo Wei's command, Patrick shot out like an arrow from a bow, the sharp finger bones under his sleeves like blades.

Who said mages could only attack from a distance? A Necromancer's bones were harder than swords and spears.

Patrick attacked head-on, while the other mages flanked from the sides and rear.

The lackeys behind Zachary had long been scared witless. Necromancers were the nightmare Western Plains people grew up hearing about. Seeing this nightmare, their limbs went weak; even if they wanted to protect their leader, they were powerless.

Thick dark elements gathered in the air. Black magic was colorless and formless when cast; mages not attuned to dark elements couldn't detect it at all.

Only when the black magic attack was imminent would the rippling air warn them to be alert.

But by then, it would be too late for alertness.

With a BOOM, the exploding shockwave sent the slave trader flying.

A strong gust of wind hit her face. Luo Wei was blown so hard she couldn't open her eyes. Her hair, black as ebony, flew wildly in the gale, her scalp tightening.

Only when the wind stopped did she see the scene ahead clearly.

Patrick had grabbed Zachary by the neck. Zachary's entire body was burning with orange-red flames.

"Want to capture me as a slave? No way!" Zachary laughed maniacally. "Hahahaha, I was waiting for this moment!"

In the blink of an eye, Patrick's sleeve was burned to ashes by the flames. The fierce fire spread along the slender bones of his right arm towards his body.

"Patrick, let go!"

Luo Wei saw at a glance something was wrong and ordered Patrick to retreat.

The orange-red flames were probably around a thousand degrees Celsius. The fire on Zachary's body was overbearing; it might truly be able to harm the Undead.

Patrick withdrew his hand and retreated. The fire had already burned up to his shoulder. The empty, dangling sleeve hung over a right arm charred pitch-black, dark elements spilling out like pouring water.

"Are you alright?" Luo Wei asked worriedly.

Patrick was the only capable fighter on the island; he absolutely must not come to harm.

[I'm fine, Master, just a minor flesh wound.]

Patrick covered his injured right arm with the sleeve of his other hand and lowered his head.

Luo Wei's heart ached to see it. This was no flesh wound; it was clearly a bone wound.

She looked up at Zachary. The man was completely enveloped in flames. The seven Necromancers surrounded him on all sides, wary and not daring to approach.

Luo Wei sneered coldly. "Mr. Bunyan, you really know how to surprise me. This kind of flame on your body... it shouldn't be created by magic, right?"

Advanced fire magic could indeed reach extremely high temperatures. But Bunyan didn't chant any spells, nor did he hold a wand. Given the current magic element concentration on the Star of Galan, mages couldn't use magic without a medium.

Moreover, the high-temperature flames released by magic, even the caster themselves couldn't withstand.

Zachary's red beard floated within the flames. His curly red hair floated upward as if losing gravity, like a cluster of dark red flame.

"You're right," Zachary said, his face glowing red, his expression wild. "You venomous woman, you didn't expect it, did you? I am a Chosen of the Fire God!"

As his words fell, a flame-shaped mark appeared on his forehead, as if to show off.

Luo Wei narrowed her eyes. A Chosen of the Fire God? Weren't Northerners said to not believe much in gods?

Though, for a blacksmith to believe in the Fire God seemed quite normal.

The Fire God Hephaestus was the god of fire and craftsmanship, holding dominion over volcanoes and flames, forging and craftsmanship. He was also one of the seventeen main gods worshipped by the Church, a proof of his power.

Trouble, Luo Wei thought.

Those favored by a god were beloved believers. The god would prioritize hearing their prayers and respond to their supplications.

Like her and the God of the Undead, they could achieve one-on-one communication in their hearts.

She didn't know who was more powerful, the God of the Undead or the Fire God. If Zachary summoned the Fire God, would she die without a burial place today?

Although true gods couldn't walk the mortal world, they could completely, like the God of the Undead, remotely grant him skills to overcome all obstacles and then crush her to death.

Luo Wei felt sorrowful inside. Great God of the Undead, this was no longer a minor scuffle between Chosen, but a conflict between gods.

It's all about who has the stronger backing!

If Zachary defeated her today, it would mean the Fire God defeated the God of the Undead, damaging the God of the Undead's face!

Great God of the Undead, are you listening at all?

Over ten thousand kilometers away, The Wastes.

A man with delicate, handsome features was sunbathing by the pool at the temple ruins when his ears suddenly rang with the inner voice of his little believer.

The plaintive prayer was full of accusations, accusing how arrogant the Fire God's believer was, accusing how much powerful energy the Fire God had given his believer.

Also accusing that the Fire God's Chosen had barged into Demon Island, openly setting fires saying he'd burn her to death, even boasting that the God of the Undead was nothing, just trash compared to the Fire God.

Hearing that last sentence, the man's playful gaze instantly turned cold.

Tch, flames are all born from darkness. What kind of thing is the Fire God?

Believers these days are just ignorant. A mere Chosen of the Fire God, what's there to fear!

He immediately waved a hand, bestowing upon her the ability to extinguish flames.

Take it. Next time you encounter a Chosen of the Fire God, pinch them out one by one. Pinch out all their flames for Him!

GURGLE, GURGLE, the Undead mermaid emerged from the bottom of the pool.

"What have you bestowed upon her this time?"

"Nothing much, just the ability to pinch out a few candles," the man said.

"My Lord God, I must remind you, your divine authority doesn't have much left," Stacie said, looking at Him with hollow eyes.

"It's fine," the man said lazily, lying down by the poolside. "I am her mother. She will return it to me twofold in the future."

"Then you just wait," Stacie said, not holding out much hope. "I think that child is very clever. She might not necessarily listen to you."

"It's fine if she doesn't listen. Like you said, who told me I owed her?"
