Reginald and Gladys were fraternal twins, their placentas were separate, which directly caused their mother to miss the chance to recognize Gladys.

The careless mother held the wailing Reginald in her arms, happily picked up the weak little wolf and the dead snow hare, ready to go back and add them to her meal.

If it weren't for the fact that the Ice Wolf Tribe's leader, Gregory Sharp, was rather old-fashioned and believed wolves were the tribe's totem and couldn't be put in a pot, Gladys would probably have been cooked and served on the table long ago.

After narrowly escaping from the pot, the little wolf was kept at home by the leader and his wife, raised as Reginald's pet and playmate.

Wolves on the ice plains were very aggressive and larger than ordinary snow wolves.

In his spare time, Gregory trained the little wolf to pull a sled, wanting to raise it as his son's sled dog.

His wife trained the little wolf to stand guard, wanting it to keep watch for the tribe when it grew up.

By the time Reginald was two years old, the leader couple gradually began to notice something odd about the little wolf.

Ice wolves reach adulthood around two or three years old, but Gladys was still a small, fluffy ball.

When Reginald was still a baby the size of a palm, she was about the size of a little rabbit; by the time Reginald had grown almost a meter tall, she was still only the size of a rabbit, having hardly grown at all.

Although the couple was puzzled, they didn't consider that the little wolf might be a reverted human; they thought it was because they usually gave the little wolf too little meat, not enough nutrition.

Reginald liked the little wolf very much, and the couple couldn't bear to abandon her, so they kept feeding her meat, hoping she would grow up quickly and become strong.

On the harsh ice plains, a slow-growing little wolf with no self-defense ability was in great danger.

But the little wolf didn't understand their good intentions, was very picky, and would only eat three pounds of meat a day before stopping, which made Mrs. Sharp so anxious she chased after her every day to feed her.

The little wolf resisted fiercely, refusing to open her mouth no matter what.

Mrs. Sharp would pick up the little wolf, pry open her pointed snout, and have Reginald use a spoon to scoop minced meat and force-feed it to her.

Mrs. Sharp also knew to proceed step by step and wouldn't feed the little wolf too much at once.

On the first day, she only force-fed an extra half pound, on the second day it increased to one pound, and after ten days it became ten pounds.

The little wolf's belly was stuffed round with meat every day, suffering from indigestion, and could only run around frantically in the yard to burn off the excess energy.

Mrs. Sharp saw this and thought, the little wolf is so lively and energetic, the meat-feeding method must be showing initial results!

She quickly chopped up a large basin of mutton, caught Gladys and held her in her arms, and had Reginald continue feeding.

Gladys, stuffed full of raw meat, was so anxious she howled and yelped, her four legs kicking constantly, and was finally tormented by her muddle-headed foster mother and her brother who aided the tyrant until she howled out human words.

A single "No eat" left Mrs. Sharp stunned and speechless, unable to recover for a long time.

When Gregory returned from hunting and heard the whole story, he immediately fell into the same eerie silence as Mrs. Sharp.

The family sat stiffly around the weak and pitiful little wolf all night, only reluctantly accepting the fact as dawn approached.

The little wolf might be a disabled half-beast.

She could only speak human words, but could not transform into human form.

Perhaps that was why she had been abandoned by her mother at birth.

Even then, they still didn't think the little wolf might be their child.

Later, when Gladys was seven years old, because her two front legs weren't agile and she lost a fight for a chicken leg to her much taller brother, she got so angry she transformed into a little girl on the spot, howling and yelping as she went to complain to the leader couple.

Seeing the girl's face, which was carved from the same mold as their son's, the leader couple almost had a heart attack and died on the spot.

The little white wolf they had raised as a pet for three years, and then as a disabled werewolf for four years, was actually their biological daughter. Anyone would go crazy over this.

The leader beat his chest and stamped his feet, the leader's wife wept tears of blood, and the two of them held Gladys and wailed loudly.

Whenever they thought of the suffering their little daughter had endured over the years, they choked up and couldn't speak.

They named their little daughter "Gladys," meaning "princess," and wanted to raise her like a princess.

But Gladys had been raised as a wolf for too long, many of her habits were different from humans, her speech wasn't fluent, and she would yelp when anxious.

The two of them spent great effort to break their daughter's habit of yelping, but the other habits couldn't be changed.

Reginald sighed: "The Ice Wolf Tribe has reproduced for thousands of years, the ancestors' bloodline had long been broken. If it weren't for Gladys's birth, we still wouldn't know our ancestors were werewolves."

Werewolves are different from beastmen. Beastmen are an intelligent race, like dog beastmen and cat beastmen, while werewolves are descendants of the Wolf God.

The Wolf God is an evil god, and werewolves are also incarnations of evil.

In many folk legends, werewolves are brutal, bloodthirsty, filthy, and ugly dark creatures. They were slaughtered to extinction when the people of the Wastes landed on the Western Plains.

Who would have thought that the Ice Wolf Tribe still retained a trace of werewolf bloodline, and two thousand years later, a reverted werewolf was born.

Although the Ice Wolf Tribe was strong and not afraid of being unable to protect Gladys, the leader couple still often worried: what if they were gone and their little daughter was bullied?

"I suggested to them, relying on others is not as good as relying on oneself, send Gladys to a magic academy to study magic."

"Werewolves have a natural affinity for the thunder element. If Gladys could become a powerful mage, father and mother wouldn't have to live in fear all day."

Reginald, acting in the role of a brother, was worrying with the heart of an old father.

"We considered for a long time before deciding to send Gladys to Heria Magic Academy."

"Gladys didn't like going to school, I was the one who tied her up and took her to Heria. Probably because of that, she's afraid of me."

Rowena: ...

She didn't know if she should say it, but she felt Gladys couldn't possibly be afraid of him just because of such a small matter.

Besides, after all that lead-up Reginald did earlier, to conclude that Gladys was afraid of him just because she didn't want to go to school, she refused to believe it.

She'd rather believe it was because he always force-fed meat to Gladys when they were little, leaving her with psychological trauma.

Poor Gladys.

Rowena looked back. They had been talking for so long and still hadn't woken the little wolf in the room. Gladys's sleep quality was really good!

Envy.

"Young Master Sharp, do you need me to go in and wake Gladys?" she turned her head and asked.

"No need," Reginald shook his head, saying politely, "Just call me by my name, Miss Rowena. Are you returning to Heria?"

Rowena: "Yes, school is starting soon. We'll set off at dawn."

Reginald said sheepishly: "Miss Rowena, could I secretly follow behind you to Heria?"

"The terrain outside the ice plains is too complex, we're afraid we won't find the way."

So that's how it is, Rowena suddenly understood.

Putting it so euphemistically, you're just directionally challenged, right?

She had wondered before why Gladys went to the unnecessary trouble of running away. Even if she escaped, her brother could still chase her to the school.

Now she understood, it turns out people from the ice plains are all directionally challenged.

"Sorry, I can't make a decision behind Gladys's back," Rowena said apologetically. "It's better to wait for her to wake up and you ask her yourself."
