"Sera, stop this."
I try to speak sense into my mate.
She is standing there. Looking at the two women. Her eyes are empty. Her smile is wrong.
"Please stop her," Diana says.
Her voice is shaking. Tears are running down her face. The kitchen knife in her hand is at the other woman's stomach.
"Oh, Marcus, honey, you're here?"
Seraphina tilts her head. She looks at me like she is surprised to see me. Like she did not expect me to come.
Just then, Rylan bursts in.
He shifts into human form. His eyes are wide with fear when he takes in the scene.
"What the hell is going on?"
A few moments later, Kai and Theron burst in.
They stop. They stare.
The room is silent.
Then Seraphina speaks.
"Oh my, it's been so long since I've had all my mates in one room."
She looks at us. One by one. Rylan. Kai. Theron. Me.
"Look at you all. So handsome. So strong."
She smiles. It does not reach her eyes.
"So ready to protect. So ready to fight."
