Originally I was looking around, searching for the damned tent. I could still feel the spell, so I knew it was still active, but where was it? And why did it feel like there was another spell active? The world was white around us and Ares was still asleep. As I looked around, I noticed how still the world looked around us. The blizzard had already stopped, the snow was still falling and the ground around us was positively smothered in the cold crystals. But something felt off. I looked around once more, looking for the one thing that was out of place. However, I could not find anything. Or at least that was until I looked mindlessly in one direction, thinking about how many souls I would be willing to sacrifice for a good cup of coffee. That's when I noticed the snowflakes frozen in the air, held there by an invisible force. One that I quickly associated with the second unrecognized spell I subconsciously kept running. Curious as I was, I stood and approached the snowflakes. And as I stretched out my hand, grabbing the flake, I felt its coldness, noticed how it didn't melt even as it had direct contact with my skin. As I tried to move my hand, I felt a resistance inside it and sure enough, the flake was not budging once.
I reached out in my mind, holding onto the spell responsible and soon realized what the spell truly did. The spell anchored different things in their position, making them nigh-unmovable and isolated their existence, basically keeping the afflicted position in a constant state of stasis, stopping any type of deterioration and external influence. My gaze wandered once more, taking in the true expanse the spell had covered. Then, by pure coincidence, I saw something flicker at the edge of my vision. So of course I looked.

.....
Why is my tent up in the air?
Yeah, so.....the tent stayed up there for some time, seeing as we didn't actually need it because we froze the world around us. But eventually, after I had woken up Ares and shown him what had happened, we dismissed the spells. Now however, seeing as we had accidentally figured out how to freeze objects and particles in place, of course we had to experiment. First thing we did? We gathered some lose snow around us, used magic to form it into snowboards and skis, exuded magical pressure to make the boards solid and then froze them, not in their location but their state. And boom, we had nearly indestructible boards. Of course we still had to go looking for Caer Dour, but for that we had to get up high and travel further at good speed, seeing as the mountain range was rather large.
Then, finally, we reached a respectable height and began riding down, Ares of course, didn't know how to snowboard at first, flew several times of course, aggressively hugged a few trees and buried himself under loose snow more often then not, at least in the beginning. Within an hour however, he figured out most of it. By then the two of us were climbing and going down mountains at an astonishing rate. Far faster than most people had ever achieved, at least in this world.
And of course, neither Ares nor me were willing to ignore magic while doing so. Within a few days of traveling that way, sometimes interrupted by sudden blizzards, to which we reacted just like the first time except this time the tent was anchored to the floor beneath us, we began to act, for the lack of a better word, delulu.....
You see....When someone realizes that they can make air solid, move it and manipulate it, one tends to go off the rails, especially if both are in some way related to a thunderous man-slut such as Zeus. So what did we do?
We began jumping off of cliffs, mountain peaks and worse while trying to solidify the air beneath our boards so that we may be able to ride the air....and guess what?
We fucked up for so many days. At the end of it, we figured out that while yes, we could achieve it, we weren't able to actually see where we were going and where the track we had created would lead, resulting in us plummeting down hundreds of meters just to catch ourselves with sudden gusts of wind and hastily created slopes of solid air. But eventually, and I mean after weeks of traveling and trying, we began to get the hang of it. It took us even longer to actually begin to notice the increase in successful attempts. However after a long time spent fucking around and finding out, we began to master the basics of our new magic. And it wasn't just the anchoring spells and their variants. But the real basics of our magic. Basics such as fire, water, air and earth magic. Some additional elements that we tried and (I am pretty sure we created a few new ones on accident) even some advanced types. Then while we were mastering those, I noticed a certain degree of spell effects, variants and affinities unique to myself. Such as a natural skill in necromancy, mostly souls and chimera creation. (Huh, who would have thought that would sneak itself into one of my dreams) Even a few more Magical affinities I hadn't had until now. But regardless, our Sky-Surfing attempts however rewarded us with a more specific skill to judge, see and manipulate magic spells.
So yeah, we spent weeks traveling through unknown mountains and over an unknown distance. But there was something I noticed. No not noticed but something was missing and it was irritating. Where were the Demons?
While we didn't know how far away from Caer Dour we were, I remembered one thing. A demon army was supposed to be marching towards it. And thinking about it.....wasn't there supposed to be a "black" mountain close to the place? We hadn't even seen a trace of it since we began looking. I told Ares about it regardless so we could look for it together. However, the fact that we had not seen even a single trace of demons so far was anything but a good sign. After a long discussion, long being relative seeing as we've been alone in the mountains for several weeks, we concluded that we arrived here some time before the plot began.
