One hour after the fusion, the Potara Earrings emitted a burst of fluorescence, and Future Trunks and Son Gohan separated once again. Both were somewhat astonished by the fusion experience they had just undergone, but they didn't dwell on it.
They returned the earrings to Ino. Future Trunks looked at the surrounding ruins and asked with a touch of sentimentality, "Has our world obtained peace?"
Saiyans only understood battle; they did not understand time.
Ino answered with a very serious expression, "Actually, I really want to say 'the good days are yet to come,' but in reality... this is just the beginning. I can't clearly explain things that are too metaphysical. There are simply too many variables in time, and no one can predict all the changing factors.
"I can only say... time is a power, and force is reciprocal. You changed Son Goku's fate, causing my timeline to head in a different direction; this force simultaneously changed the fate of your timeline. You must be prepared; even more powerful enemies will appear in the future of your timeline."
There were still enemies in the future? What were they supposed to do? Just two Androids had turned Earth into a living hell—if strong enemies came again? Life would be impossible.
The current Earth needed construction; it needed all survivors to unite and rebuild their destroyed homes together.
Ino didn't mention recruitment again. Instead, she watched silently from the side. The reality was that human nature did not exceed her expectations.
Future Trunks and Son Gohan wanted to join the reconstruction of their homeland, but many survivors rejected their help.
When the Androids were present, Future Trunks was the only hope. Now that the Androids were gone, his Super Saiyan power became a threat that penetrated to the marrow. The survivors worried that this kind of power might one day fall upon their own heads. Each of them behaved very politely, but within that politeness, a thick apprehension was revealed.
Humans feared the Androids, and they also feared Super Saiyans.
The two expressed understanding regarding this subtle sentiment. This time, without Ino needing to speak, and to prevent this emotion from deteriorating into new hatred, they joined Ino's command with the mindset of wage earners.
Helping Ino eliminate bad guys within the universe would, on one hand, provide a steady stream of combat opportunities, and on the other, allow them to use the resources in her hands to become stronger.
If Saiyans did not experience battle, there wasn't much room for improvement just by training with their heads down; the efficiency of such training was also very low.
They didn't want to train like that before, but they had no choice. The Senzu Beans were gone. A single injury required half a year of rest, which delayed things too much.
Son Goku could ponder near-death upgrades and use the Kamehameha to constantly batter himself, but Future Trunks couldn't do that. He was the only hope; he couldn't fall. Let alone near-death, he rarely even suffered heavy injuries. If he saw he couldn't win, he had to run immediately.
In Ino's timeline—specifically when the Androids awakened three years later—he would sometimes say he wanted to wait for Son Goku, and other times say they should discuss a plan before fighting. As a result, Vegeta evaluated him as having 'no Saiyan spirit.'
He indeed lacked that spirit, but what choice did he have? In his timeline, everyone with Saiyan spirit was dead. He could only lay low and survive.
By throwing his lot in with Ino, he didn't need to be so cautious.
Even death wasn't to be feared; an Underworld big shot could resurrect you, or simply let you fight using your Underworld body.
Ino didn't have many Senzu Beans in hand, but she had the recovery liquid from Planet Vegeta. No matter how heavy the injury, soaking for a night would heal it completely. This was simply too attractive to the two, who were poor as dirt in terms of resources.
Ino used Time Power to block the temporal fluctuations of the Treasured Tool: Plow's shuttle effect, silently taking the two back to her own time point.
Bardock, Pikkon, Nail, Son Gohan, and Future Trunks—she now had the Four Heavenly Kings under her command. Whether they were enemies from the Underworld or the Living World, enemies from before the time point or after, they could all be effectively resolved. She no longer needed to do everything herself.
Ino gathered everyone at her West Kai's Planet to introduce the two new partners. "Hmm, let me introduce everyone. This is Son Gohan, and this is Trunks. They both come from the future. The three over here are Bardock, Nail, and Pikkon."
Bardock's expression was a bit odd as he looked up and down at Son Gohan, who was already 22 years old this year. "Is this the Son Gohan I know?"
Ino shook her head. "No, this is Son Gohan from another timeline. However, I don't mind if you two acknowledge each other as grandfather and grandson."
Bardock waved his hands repeatedly. "No, no. The child on Kakarot's side is my grandson. This one... let's just treat this one as a colleague."
He looked at Future Trunks again. "This is the child of Vegeta the Fourth?"
Vegeta the Fourth? This Saiyan form of address was too formal. Ino thought for several seconds. "...Hmm, yes, that's roughly correct. But the Vegeta the Fourth of our spacetime hasn't gotten together with his mom yet. Which is to say, he hasn't been born yet..."
Bardock was completely dizzy. What a mess this all was.
After the Four Heavenly Kings got to know each other, they had to recommend a leader.
Bardock stated that he was just an old soldier and couldn't be a leader. Nail and Pikkon were both part-timers. Son Gohan had always been very humble. In the end, Future Trunks became the Captain.
Bardock, Son Gohan, and Future Trunks were all Super Saiyans, so their battle power was guaranteed. Pikkon's strength wasn't much worse than Bardock's. Nail had recently assimilated a Namekian during his universal travels who was of the same generation as Earth's Kami and Lord Slug. That was also a combat-type Namekian. After the assimilation, his strength had risen like a rocket. Added to the accumulation of various resources, he was now only a notch inferior to a Super Saiyan.
The strength of the five was decent, but Ino believed they could be even stronger.
Diligent training was essential, but there were still many strong enemies in the future. What if they couldn't win even by attacking all together? What then?
Ino felt she was already far ahead of the 'times.' Son Goku's side hadn't even figured out Super Saiyan Full Power yet, while her side had entered the era of fusion!
Back in her own timeline, using the Supreme Kai earrings wasn't very convenient. That item attracted too much attention; she really couldn't explain how she possessed such a thing. Say she picked it up? Who would believe that!
Fusion wasn't limited to just the earring method. It didn't matter if the effect was slightly worse—let's go with the Metamoran Fusion Technique!
Relying on the authority where the Grand Kai and the four Kais ignored everything while Ino managed heaven, earth, and everything in between, the two Metamorans dared not delay after receiving the order. They immediately came to West Kai's Planet honestly and obediently to report.
Ino sat in the main seat, with the Four Heavenly Kings lined up on the left and right.
"Lord Kai, my lords, our Planet Metamor's Fusion Technique is very simple. We will demonstrate it for you lords once first." The two thin and weak Metamorans behaved exceptionally politely in front of the group of big shots.
