Chapter 786 - Chapter 786: Ino and the Girl

"Kill her!" Lion Head ordered.

The vampire alien was full of shock, not knowing why a dead person would come back to life. He knew the toxicity of the poison on his needles too well; he really didn't think that after taking a solid hit, anyone could still stroll around as if nothing had happened.

He didn't move, but the rest of Lion Head's subordinates charged forward in unison.

Like a mantis trying to stop a chariot, these guys looked to have a battle power of maybe eight hundred or a thousand; facing Ino, they were simply insignificant.

She used "Water Release: Heavenly Weeping." Her water-attribute chakra transformed into water arrows—one arrow per person—and in the blink of an eye, they were all dealt with.

That Lion Head seemed to be a transformation-type alien, but to Ino, it made no difference whether his battle power was 3,000 or 30,000; it was all a matter of a single move.

Because Whis had said not to cause trouble, Ino felt somewhat guilty coming to the Sixth Universe, leaving the Seventh Universe where she had operated for a long time and had a dense network of connections. She didn't use any high-power moves like shockwaves or energy beams; using a pollution-free and concealed move like "Heavenly Weeping" was also for her own safety.

Kale didn't notice the changes around her at all. The little girl lowered her head, trembling, her slender legs seemingly unable to support her body weight anymore.

"Hey," Ino called out softly.

The little girl's legs went soft, and she sat on the ground in fright, looking at Ino with dull, listless eyes.

She had obviously forgotten the appearance of big sister "Haruno Sakura." She looked at Ino as if looking at a stranger. It wasn't until Ino took out that half-eaten chocolate that a little bit of spirit recovered in the little girl's eyes.

Ino didn't speak; she stuffed the chocolate into her hand and placed a bottle of water beside her.

"Stay here like a good girl, I'll be right back." Ino pushed the door open and left.

The little girl, Kale, silently gripped the chocolate in her hand, not even touching the water bottle that was close at hand.

Her thin, small body sat paralyzed on the ground, not moving for a long time.

She felt this was normal. They were strangers by chance; who would be willing to bring along a burden like her? Especially since she had caused quite a bit of trouble—no one would believe those things even if she told them, right? That such a universally praised good person actually had another face...

Worrying about getting into trouble and leaving early was the norm.

Pitiful, weak, and helpless; the girl's mental state was on the verge of collapse.

When Ino returned from another room carrying a large bag of valuables, the sound of the door opening was a bit loud, startling the little girl.

The girl's face was covered in tears. She hadn't expected Ino to return, and Ino hadn't expected this child to be so heavy-hearted; in just this short while, she had cried like this?

The girls of Konoha were all very strong. Little Himawari was basically treated like a princess; now that their family had hired Ebisu to be the child's home tutor, Ebisu calling her "Lady Himawari" with every breath was a complete replica of Konohamaru in the old days.

The forces Ino controlled in the dark were too large. Back then, no one dared to discuss this topic of two women having a daughter. Want to use this matter as gossip? Do you not want to live anymore? Root ninjas appeared and disappeared unpredictably, and they even invented the crime of "silent slander"; couples hiding under their blankets didn't even dare to discuss it. Now that she had become Hokage, they didn't dare mention it even more—they didn't even dare to think about it.

When Ino and the others were young, they were also very strong. Leaving herself aside, Hinata could grit her teeth and persevere no matter how great the pressure, and Tenten was optimistic and positive. It was only Sakura whose personality was a bit lacking in that regard.

In the original timeline, Sasuke betrayed the village and Sakura really couldn't control her emotions, her face covered in tears. In this timeline, Sasuke stayed in the village the whole time, busy grinding missions every day and going nowhere. Sakura was so full of anger toward a certain someone that she didn't even have the energy to cry...

The Ninja Village used women as men and men as robots; there really were no scenes of crying and whimpering.

Once Kale started crying, she couldn't stop; she cried extremely sadly. Ino, carrying a large bag of gold, silver, and treasures, felt a bit awkward for a moment.

"Why are you crying like this? Don't cry, don't cry, the bad guys have all been beaten to death by big sister." She hugged the girl in her arms and gently patted her back. Before long, a large patch of her clothes was wet.

The girl cried until she fainted directly.

Only then did Ino have time to examine the clothes on the little girl's body. Before, she hadn't looked closely, but now she found they were also tattered.

Sure enough, once anything involved an "average," there would inevitably be highs and lows. If you averaged Sakura and Ino Yamanaka, you'd be a solid richest person in the shinobi world. No matter how civilized the Sixth Universe was, there were still hard-luck kids like Kale.

A quarter of an hour later, the girl woke up leisurely.

"Come, stand up. I'll buy you two sets of clothes first."

Ino forcefully pulled the little girl up and arrived at a place in the city that counted as a children's clothing store.

"Do you need me to help you change?"

"...No need, no need." The little girl waved her hands hurriedly.

It looked like Kale was about four or five years old, not a baby, so she didn't need an adult to help her change clothes hand over hand.

A quarter of an hour later, Kale walked out of the fitting room timidly.

The little girl had combed her long black hair into a ponytail, leaving a lock of bangs in front of her forehead. She wore a red midriff-baring tank top, black shorts, and shoes.

Ino let out a "Huh?" and said, "Are you imitating my style? Wearing a midriff-baring outfit at such a young age, be careful of getting a stomachache!"

The little girl lowered her head, not daring to speak. It wasn't that she was intentionally imitating, but that she didn't have any other reference object.

"Hahahaha, I'm teasing you." Ino smiled and rubbed the little girl's hairstyle. "This getup is a bit strange. Those who don't know would think you are my daughter. Come, let's go eat."

A piece of chocolate definitely wasn't enough to be full. Ino estimated the little girl hadn't eaten a full meal in a long time. It just so happened she had made a fortune from Lion Head's place; eating a meal should be just about affordable, right?

Half a day later, looking at the empty plates stacked half a person high beside them, Ino secretly calculated her previous harvest—this child could really eat! This appetite was catching up to Hinata and Choji.

Ino herself stopped after eating two bites. The food in the Sixth Universe was generally on the sweet side, and she wasn't used to it. Kale was hesitant and didn't dare to reach out; it wasn't until Ino wanted to feed her that she began to eat, bite by small bite.

At first, she was very reserved, but as she ate, she got into the zone.

It could be seen that this child was truly starving.

Ino only enjoyed the process of collecting money; she actually wasn't greedy for money, nor had she ever lacked money.

At this moment, she kept calling the waiter: "Give me another two plates of that Planet Medusa omelet."

"Grandnil No. 5 Old Dad's Roast Meat... hmm, give me ten plates."

"What is the Psychedelic Rock? Is it a stone? Oh... some kind of marine creature? Then give me ten of those too."

Ino was obviously a major client. Nearly half the restaurant was circling their table to serve them. Every time a dish was brought up, she would taste a couple of bites lightly, and then push it to Kale using excuses like it was too sweet or she wasn't used to eating it.

Kale was a child after all. She thought this beautiful big sister really wasn't used to the food. Acting on the principle of not wasting, she muddled through and ate it all into her own stomach.
