September, Beijing.
The sweltering heat of midsummer dissipated completely. The autumn wind scattered the clouds, hanging them above the high walls of the residential area.
Old Jiang looked up briefly, carrying supplements into the neighborhood, went upstairs to check in, and wasn't keen on staying long.
He exchanged a few pleasantries, promising to come again next time.
Then, he returned home.
This is a house bought by Jiang Nian, the space is large. Living alone seemed too spacious, making it appear lonely.
However, he couldn't leave.
One has to be here.
Over in Yuhang, Li Hongmei was accompanying Xu Qianqian. Him being here more or less was a gesture.
After a while, Jiang Nian came back.
"Dad."
"Yeah, I just took a trip," said Old Jiang, "had a cup of tea and then came back."
Jiang Nian: "You've worked hard."
Old Jiang: "....."
Worked hard my ass, just felt a bit uncomfortable. What kind of family is that, nothing simple about their lifestyle.
