The following morning, Kael completed his three and a half hours of training without repeating the loss of precision from the previous day. Sylphie kept the final portion exactly the same, placing targets at different distances after fatigue had already begun weighing on his arms. The first slash struck the center, the second landed a few millimeters to the left, and the remaining strikes stayed within the margin she had established.
"Now we can increase it," Sylphie said, collecting one of the targets while Kael put away his swords. "But not tomorrow."
Kael turned toward her. "You just said we could increase it."
"We can," Sylphie replied, tucking the target under her arm. "After a day of light training. Your body has recovered, but you've increased the workload practically every day this week. Tomorrow, one hour at most."
"One hour isn't training."
"That's exactly the kind of statement that makes me reduce it to forty minutes."
