The eunuch approached Adelina, who had remained frozen in her spot. Adelina finally loosened her stiff muscles and turned away from Cedric. For some reason, her heart was racing inside her chest, and she felt as if her blood was running dry.
"Where are we going?"
She thought the eunuch would guide her back to Ethan, but he was taking her somewhere else instead. The eunuch lowered his head when he heard her question.
"At the banquet, we will be holding a prayer ceremony to wish good tidings for Gideon. The ladies and madams are to participate as well."
Adelina had attended a banquet with Scarr before, but this was the first time she'd encountered a ceremony like this. But since the eunuch said that the other noble families would be participating as well, she just assumed this was the way it was.
"Then can you tell my husband about this? He will worry if I leave without informing him."
"I will do so, my Lady."
Adelina nodded and followed the eunuch.
