Miria slowly emerged from sleep, her body still heavy from last night. His hand slipped on the mattress: empty, cold. Asher was long gone. A lazy smile stretched his lips. She stood up naked, shivering slightly, and made a beeline for her wardrobe. Among the neatly arranged shirts, she chose Asher's favorite white one—the one that still vaguely carried his woody scent. Too big, it fell like a caress on her skin, the sides brushing the top of her thighs, the top buttons deliberately left open to reveal the curve of her breasts.
Hours later, Asher pushed open the front door, chest drenched in sweat from his endless jogging. He had told himself over and over that running would erase the images of Miria arching beneath him, moaning, pleading. Lie. Each stride only fueled the blaze.
He crossed the living room to the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of ice water and drank it in large gulps.
"Asher…"
The voice, soft and hoarse, froze him. He turned. Miria stood in the doorway, illuminated by the light. His shirt hugged his curves like a second skin: full breasts stretching the fabric, generous hips, bare and slightly parted thighs.
Asher stood frozen, the bottle hanging halfway from his mouth. His eyes moved slowly down, lingering over every inch.
"Hello… I woke up, and you weren't there anymore. I thought you were gone for good. »
He swallowed, his voice hoarse. "I-I…I needed some air." To… run. To… evacuate. »
Miria approached, step by step, her bare feet touching the ground. She lowered her head, suddenly shy, her voice trembling: "Are you sorry? »
Asher exhaled deeply, his chest heaving. " No. Not for a second. »
She looked up, shining with fragile hope. " Really ? »
"Logically…I should." But damn, Miria…" He put the bottle down, approached in turn. "I haven't felt this alive in years. Also… consumed. In your arms, last night, I found something that I thought was dead. »
A bright smile lit up his face. She threw herself against him, hugging him tightly. "If you knew how afraid I was that this night would destroy us…" she whispered before kissing him, voracious, desperate.
