„WAIT! WAIT! IM FRIENDLY"
I screamed from the top of my lungs, although I quickly realised that the chance they spoke English on a different planet seemed quite low. So to make them feel not threatened by my sudden appearance, I quickly raised my hands above my head.
„Aszet Kash Masshwa!"
A tall man jumped from the back of the carriage onto the ground, as the carriage seemed to have stopped. Another more feminine voice seemed to hesitate while speaking with the man.
„Kasha- … Mwan Ishid Yashar?"
The man let out a slight grunt before slowly stepping towards me, who was still raising his hands in the air. Although I was also slowly considering the possibility to just run and get away, as the man didn't seem to be very friendly minded.
Ten meters …
Five …
His pace seemed to get slower the closer he was, stopping just around two meters away from me.
His hand pulled something from behind his back. My hope made me think about a water bottle. Oh how thirsty I was. But no, the object he was pulling out seemed to be …
A KNIFE!
As I realized that the man was now holding a small knife in his right hand, he was already on his next move. With a swift step to the right, he swung the knife straight down towards my knee, trying to injure me so I couldn't run away.
Luckily for me, I had been training fighting for almost over a decade as a child, as my father tried to always convince me how important these skills seemed to be. Oh how much more energetic I would have been if I had know I would get teleported to a different world. Welp, not that these regrets would help me now.
I moved my leg backwards, as I turned my whole upper body to the side, evading his dangerous attack and positioning myself to the left, seemingly in a blind spot, as he took some time to even turn around and aim his next knife from above down towards my chest.
Without thinking too much, my instincts take over. My left hand pushing upwards towards his knife, holding his arm with a strong grip as I press against him, making him back down and accidentally trip backwards, resulting in him lying on the ground and me right above him. Before I can even react, the knife, that was aimed at me previously, had now by accident, forced its way against his throat.
„Yas- mh- kwahs- mgh"
His eyes were wide with shock, not could he have imagined a mere wandering beggar would have the ability to force him down.
But not only he was shocked. In the same moment it seemed as if I was frozen. I let go from my previous tight grip around his arm. In complete shock, I could only hear his voice mumbling broken sounds as he slowly lost consciousness. His hand, that tried to hold his own throat to stop the bleeding, lost all its strength, weakly sliding along his throat onto the ground.
I rose up from my previous position. How did this happen? I killed someone. Although by accident, all in all, it was still me who led to this situation. But if he hadn't pulled the knife. If he hadn't immediately attacked me.
I tried to reason with myself, trying to accept what had happened. As I stood there in a frozen state, still looking down on the now empty eyes of a man, who seemed so vivid just a few moments ago, the previous feminine voice resounded again, still hiding in the carriage.
Fuck, I killed this man, what if she wants to kill me too? What if there is something like a police here too?
In this wilderness…
My mind started to race, wicked thoughts formed one after another.
No one will miss two people, right?
No one will know it was me…
It seemed as if if the previous accident had taken the moral goodness straight from me. I knew it was wrong to kill this woman, over twenty two years had I spent in a world, where murder was one of the most outrageous and pure evil things one could do.
One, where you would be judged no matter if by accident or intentionally. But now I was planning on doing it again… this time even prepared. Prepared to end the life of someone else.
The voice spoke once more, again of course in a language completely unfamiliar to anything I had ever heard before.
I bent down, right above the man's body, or now corpse and slowly pulled the small sharp knife from the ground, grabbing it carefully as to not let the same mistake happen again.
I looked up at the carriage, carefully considering where to approach and even what to expect. I had no idea where and who was in that carriage, nor did I know if this world also had something like pistols and guns.
Judging from the clothes the man was dressed in and the horse pulled carriage, it reminded me more of the medieval times of Earth.
The voice seemed to get impatient, so as not to get into an awkward situation, I slowly sneaked my way to the carriage, always on the watchout for any person looking outside.
As I approached the carriage, my breath got heavier. I was planning on doing something that was anything but good. But I had no other choice. Without being able to explain myself in their language, how could I tell them it was only an accident and not blatant murder?
I was now right next to the carriage, waiting for the right moment to climb into the carriage from the back and murder the woman waiting for her man to come back.
