"Cass, I've seen-"
"Shut up, Lucian! I took back that question!" Cass was loud. He knew it. He was shouting, because he really, really did not want to have another conversation like this right now.
Everyone was staring at him, and Cass watched as Edgar's eyes lit up as he inhaled sharply.
"You've seen what, Lucian?" Edgar asked, excitement in his voice. Cass bit his lip.
"He saw nothing." Cass fired back and Lucian let out a low rumble.
"Sweetness." Lucian chastised and Cass was indignant that the other man was going to attempt this. He didn't like Lord Ridgewood. Why the fuck was he 'evening the playing field'? That's what this felt like!
"Don't." Cass warned, but Lucian, the idiot, went forward.
