Whipping the sweat from my brow, I look to the side with a smile as I see my Gathering swarm drop off another one of those holy energy swords and a few blessed bullets I told them to steal from any church they found.
"Good, getting a surplus of these to use and experiment with should do me nicely before going out to find any stray devils."
Walking over to the weapons and bullets, I put them in steel containers I found while cleaning the train shed, which I'm turning into my base of operations for now, and even found an underground storage section for other trains.
If I truly want to start my faction, I can't half ass this. I need to go fully into everything until I can get proper people I can trust involved... Though at least the gacha is trying to help me as much as it can~
\
You are an expert at reading, learning, and retaining information; you could read 50 books in a day and still be able to retain all the information from the individual books.
/
Once I got this yesterday, I went to the store and bought a ton of books needed for Construction, scrapping, engineering, science, blacksmithing, management, ect.
I only finished the construction book a few hours ago, but using the information to look for a suitable starting base was worth it. Turns out train yards are built to last in case of abandonment for around 50 to 100 years thanks to their steel beams and rails.
"I'll have to replace the rotting wood in the area but other than that, Mid term decay is better than nothing for a place with this much material" Putting the mop away I walk over to my work desk and sit down in the swivel chair with a light spin.
Now, for what the faction will do? Well, you can't help humanity while keeping them in the dark all the time, can you? We'll slowly expose them to the supernatural, slowly build their resistance to mind magic, and turn them into a force that shows the other three that they've been playing 'superior race' for far too long~
"And the best way to do so is by getting their attention~" A smile works its way onto my face as I look to the image of a red fig leaf cut in half with the words Nerv on the left side painted onto a storage crate. "After all~ 'God's in his heaven', right?"
For now, however, I need more materials and to see what changed because of Remix. Once I can get a decent understanding of a stray devil, making a danger list and how to kill it should I get assistance would work wonders.
Thinking it over for a moment, I nod and walk to the locked crates of holy weapons and grab a light sword hilt and silver with gold decal Desert Eagle loaded with holy bullets before putting them away in the inner pockets of my uniform, and leave.
"The show had stray devils in abandoned areas close to civilization for quick kidnappings in the dark and easy travel. That's also why I made my base 6 miles from the edge of Kuoh."

Arriving at the property of an abandoned building, I can't help the shiver that goes down my spine as I look at it. The elderly couple I asked said the owner disappeared after his family died, and anyone who tried to buy the place felt something 'off' about the place.
Taking out the holy gun, I check the blessed bullets in the mag before walking up to the door and using the light blade to slice the hinges off while activating
The place is empty; no furniture, no lights, nothing. It's like anything that wasn't, and even if it was nailed down, got taken.
Crouching down, I coil my tentacles around my arms and legs as I move my fingers along a grove in the floor left by something getting dragged and follow them while readying my gun before I stop and look at the doorway to the basement.
The door's gone and thousands of scratches, scrapes, and damage were done to the surrounding rim of the passage, as if the state of the items being dragged down didn't matter, only that they were there.
Narrowing my eyes, I begin to make my way down with slow steps and nearly throw up at the smell coming from the place the deeper I go. It's like rotting meat, rusted metal, iron from blood, and old mildew on cloth. Shaking my head with a glare as
Making it to the bottom, I aim my gun as I enter a massive chamber the size of a warehouse with tunnels and hundreds of things filling a pit. From books, old magazines, and toys, to furniture, clothes, and appliances.
I can only look for a moment before jumping back as a glob of yellow goo splatters against the ground I was on and hardens, causing me to look up and spot a man with the lower body of an ant and looking at me with madness as his eyes quickly dart around as if he's seeing things.
Stray-Devil: "Mine, Mine! Come here, no, take my shiny. My Shinies. Mine!"
I use my four tentacles to throw myself to the side as he jumps towards me with a scream. Rolling to my feet, I shot him in the body twice, making him scream in pain but not stop as he began to spit more goo globs at me, causing me to run.
"It responds to pain but dosn't stop; has the corruption of the evil piece overridden their self preservation?" Sliding under another goo glob, I fire three more shots into his body, making him cough up blood as the bullet holes begin to bubble and hiss, making him drop to the side, twitching but dying.
Sighing, I make my way close enough to point at his head and pull the trigger, killing him and watching as the body begins to turn into black and red smoke, leaving a black crystal pawn piece on the ground.
\
/
"C class Stray devil, huh? I'll need to make a chart for the rankings when I get home and or kill more so my group has the info once I make one"
Looking around, I walk to the pit and grab an old shirt to grab the pawn piece and wrap it up before going back to the entrance and grab my duffle bag grab anything that could be useful like the pawn piece, to take back to base.
Moving through the pile, the only things I found that could be useful were three old 50GB USBs, a waffle maker, three nice looking dress shoes that were in my size, a cookbook for stews and slow cook meals, and the only thing that truly grabbed my interest.
{Mage Rune Guide Book}-{For all your young Mages to start learning the basics}
Putting that at the very top of my bag, I get ready to head off before looking at the pile again and deciding it may be worth coming back here if I need more parts or when I get more help to dig past the top layer.
But for now, I'll head home to get some sleep and continue my research and preparations over the next 5 days until school starts on the 7th and takes most of my preparation planning, but at the same time should help hear whispers of other strays.

Finishing the last line of the rune, I hold my hand to it and watch as a soft blue energy pulses through the groves before flickering and going out, causing me to sigh and throw it into the trash with the other ten trial runes I made.
"Trial and error are the steps to success... Just wish it could actually show where you messed up to help improve"
Looking at the computer I've set up and connected to some Wi-Fi wires in the basement, I look at the stack markets I've invested in and recalculate a few ups and downs.
Reading the business books I got and three other books on how to do stock marketing, I put a small chunk of my cash into the markets I knew blew up in my old life to see if I could cheat in some money.
Plus, the skill I rolled with the bronze ticket will help with the base more than I thought possible and saved me time having to read more books... But my silver Ticket? That has expanded and accelerated my plans by a large amount~.

You are very skilled at the craft of Architecture, designing buildings and structures that both look good and hold up well. You could design entire cities, well, minus the infrastructure. But you could still easily get a job as an architect.
Allows you to design, modify, and build technology and technological constructs related to Robotics. Allowing you to build a variety of simple robots, such as gun-using robots and robots that are as capable as the average man. You could probably get away with building a B-1 Droid, maybe even a B-2 if you train enough.
/
I swapped out my abilities a few hours ago, and the information that rolled into my head caused my nose to bleed for a bit before I slowed it down to only show one blueprint in the background of my mind while I do things.
And who would have guessed, but Scholar helped retain the information of the blueprints when swapped out of the Tinker ability. However, the rate at which I need to look through them to remember is very slow since I need to be taught what the parts, coding, maintenance, and controls for each type of robot are.
And if I change the robot from, say, a bipedal type to a quadruped type, I have to completely relearn it since not all the parts and code are compatible with each other. Still better than nothing, though.
Moving back to the work area, I resume the few mixed coding packs I've wanted as the cheap construction practice for this robot will be the starting point for my faction. A mass production robot that'll be both small enough to work behind the walls as a repair robot, and I can make many enough to be a helpful mini construction bot.
A pit droid from Star Wars. Cheap, quick to make, and with a mixture of different Robotic programing they can perform most basic functions I can code into them at the moment without overloading their CPU or sending commands with a central server network.
Uploading the Worker_Drone.YAML into the 50 GB flash drive I turned into a low level AI core, I watched as the antenna on its mushroom capped head extended before it unfolded with a slight hop before giving me a salute.
\
/
"Alright, little guy, I'll need you to help put together four more of your droid type. Read these blueprints and then tell them to help until all five of you are up and running, which will be called Pit Crew Alpha. Once your group is ready, make charging platforms for yourselves in the employ room over there and go into sleep mode."
Its eye flashes green while nodding and beginning to look through the files I put into his databanks detailing a step-by-step process to build more. All while another wave of my gathering swarm comes back from that house pit and drops off more broken electronics in a crate to the side where the rest of the swarm are sorting parts from a list I made.
Once I have three pit crews, I'll get started on phase two of the plan, self sustainability. I'll need drill robots, smelting robots, and construction robots to make factories that produce parts needed for more Robots, construction, and equipment, which I can get a Headstart on once I get scouted by Sona and form a contract with her for the stuff I need... Or the Gacha gives me something, or both. Both are good, too.
Once I get all of that stable I'll begin expanding the basement of the base towards the mountains a good 30 miles out, both for more room and it's the perfect area that the two 'Owners' of this town don't govern, giving me free rein without having to give into the two families.
Sitting on the roof of a train, I lay on my back and watched the clouds roll past as I let my mind rest. No plans. No training. Just letting myself drift in the moment where I'm in an anime, and I've just accepted it so quickly after remembering how dangerous the world I'm in with a gacha as my only net.
\
Konosuba - Allows you to create large volumes of fresh water from your hands but does not allow you to control it; the stream of water is strong enough to seriously hurt someone.
/
Smiling, I summon the ability card and look over it for a bit before holding it to my chest and letting it sink in with a mental Install and swap to my newest ability before shooting a small stream of water from my palm into the air and watching it make a rainbow as it spreads into a mist.
Laying there for a while, I get up and decide to go see if I can get more parts for the base. Maybe I can find some cool stuff in the junkyard. If I find good stuff, I'll send my gathering swarm out to get small stuff in the dark of night so no one notices, preferably from the back of the junkyard since it would be harder to check.
It's not that far to the junkyard by bus; it's finding the parts that match blueprints I swipe through in my head that takes three hours of my day from me to collect and add to a growing pile in my pull waggon
"Come on, mister Shintaro. What kind of junkyard upcharges a V8 engine from 2003? I could get three scraped car chassis for that price" I argued with the older man, causing him to laugh.
Shin: "Here's a better question, kid. Why do you need a V8 Engine? Matter of fact, why do you need all this old junk, anyway? You some kind of alien repairing his ship.
I roll my eyes at that one. If I were an alien, I could probably just 3D print the parts I need to repair my ship. I respect the junkyard business thanks to KND, which is why I am even bothering with buying it right now. Come on, old man, keep up.
"No, I'm not an alien. I'm just a young scientist who figured buying junk car parts and fixing it up would be better and cheaper than buying a new car" I explain while counting the cash and handing him the 3,450 yen or $345 and adjusting my grip on the handle of my waggon with the engine snug inside.
Shin: "Well, damn! Taking your ride into your own hands, huh? Good on ya kid. Once that girl's built and revved, you got a car you can trust."
Nodding to his words, I made my way along town to my house and stored the engin in the garage and began taking it apart on a workbench. I need to keep an appearance of a kid interested in this stuff if I'm ever being watched.
I already have the Pit droids making a tunnel from the Train yard under the garage anyway, so if I ever need to make a sub-basement for this house in the event it's destroyed, I still have a storage for stuff I made here.
Looking over the parts of the engine, I look through some blueprints of robot arms I could make to help with making things and find one of those robotic arms in car shops that even comes with a monorail it could move on if I hocked it up to the ceiling.
"Maybe I could do something with the few suspension systems I found at the junkyard with them?.. Nah, save it for something else. Now then, let's get to work"

I wipe the sweat from my brow with a towel before refocusing on using the soil compactor to smooth the last of the dirt in one of the new rooms of the base while Pit crew Beta are busy putting in the wiring for the first room while letting the concrete of the second room is still drying with the new drones I made to make air currents that will speed up the drying process.
Moving to the door frame and climbing out, I give a thumb up to Pit Crew Alpha, letting them move into the room with a hose to fill the 3 foot drop with cement while a smoothing drone flies nearby, ready to use its hammer arm to hit the long brass rod in its other arm to send vibrations into the cement and smooth it to a stable and more sturdy floor.
Hanging the equipment away in its locker, I take a quick shower and put on my regular clothes while putting a note for a pit droid to wash and dry my construction outfit while I'm gone.
Progress is going smoothly and the first three new rooms of Train-yard 01. Once they're fully set up, I'll make the small room, which is still 13 by 13ft, my office to keep track of my projects, the second room should work as a charging and repair room for the robots, and I'll make the last room a storage room since it's the largest and closest to the fourth room which will be the robotics lab.

Conceptualization is your ability to understand what is beyond the mundane and inexplicable. With this level, your mind probably won't be shattered by hearing the Old Ones whisper. Magic and Esoteric make more sense to you when you see them; you understand, learn, and develop magic more easily and have a better time understanding the mystical side of reality.
/
A pulse rings through my head so hard I stumble and have to use the wall for support as 10 years of magic study, eldritch whispers, cryptid, devil, fallen, and angel knowledge is shoved into my head causing my vision to blur as information about the stray I killed before begin to become more focused on.
The hardening and slight acidic property of its spit, the way its mind was shattered and left with a concept of greed being the only thing left, or the way it's body shifted to match the desires of the mind and the evil piece giving it a form to satisfy those desires as a red fire ant.
All of it.
Getting off the wall and wiping the blood from my nose, I slowly make my way back down to my office and take out a suitcase that opens, revealing the pawn piece, and with a little look I can see it.
The magical formation on the surface level that rewrites a person's genetic code to that of a devil. Unfortunately, I can't understand the formations for bonding the soul, unlocking devil magic, or the other sub-functions of the piece. But it's enough. Oh, it very well is enough~
"Thank you, gacha. It seems my plan for humanity just got an even bigger head start than I imagined"
Closing the suitcase and putting it back in its sealed spot, I go back to the surface office and begin ordering every mathematics, medical, psychological, and science book I can think of before reopening the magic Rune book to finish it in its entirety.
"Time to skip a few steps and go full throttle. Humanity will make itself a proper faction. That I can promise! Now hom many of these construction and digging bots can I make with our current funds and parts?~"

Sorry about the whole gone for months thing. I made a 'Book' that's full of different book ideas I'm gonna upload one day and keep updating that, but I like these books too. Unfortunately, with work and my ADHD infused Autism I'm stuck writing about 3oo words on one book, then thinking of a different book. Repeat for weeks on end and you get my writing schedule. And no, I will not take medication! I like the voices and thousands of chaotic thoughts; they're my friends.
Moving on, I'll see you next chapter upload, whenever and whatever that will be.
Ciao~
