But after a thorough search, he found nothing, so he furrowed his brow slightly and handed the shopkeeper one ingot of silver.
"Sir, what is this for?"
Chen Jie glanced at the shopkeeper and said, "Whose carriage is that outside?"
The shopkeeper said, "It's Wu Laosan's."
Chen Jie was taken aback and asked the shopkeeper, "Wu Laosan?"
The shopkeeper replied, "Yes, it's Wu Laosan's."
"Have any female riders alighted from the carriage?"
The shopkeeper shook his head and said, "No, no females, only Wu Laosan himself."
Chen Jie frowned, pondered, and then asked the shopkeeper, "So where is Wu Laosan?"
"He's gone to the toilet."
The shopkeeper pointed towards the toilet, and Chen Jie said, "Thank you."
