Killer B was a perfect Jinchuriki. Even Konoha's Sannin could not easily withstand the onslaught of a Tailed Beast.
As for the remaining Yellow Flash and the Nine-Tails, they could only be left to the people of Akatsuki. Legend had it that among the Three Great Dojutsu, both the Rinnegan and the Sharingan possessed miraculous effects against Tailed Beasts. This information was fully recorded by Kumogakure, which held a vast archive on the history of the Land of Lightning.
"Killer B, I'll handle Shimizu Uchiha!"
Leaving these words behind, Yugito Nii's figure had already dashed hundreds of meters away.
"Yugito, don't be reckless!" Killer B shouted loudly.
Samui's safety was certainly important, but this was highly likely a trap. The best course of action was to scatter the Konoha shinobi in front of them first, and then go search for Samui. Unfortunately, Yugito's figure had already vanished into the mountain forests, and it was unclear whether Killer B's shouts had even reached her ears.
"B, watch out ahead," Gyuki, the Eight-Tails, warned from within Killer B.
Killer B brandished several slender swords, effortlessly beheading the venomous snakes that rushed at him. At this moment, he wasn't even in the mood to rap. With the assistance of Akatsuki, Kumogakure already held the upper hand in this battle. Yet, Yugito had left without a second thought. Could she have some sort of personal grudge against Shimizu Uchiha? Killer B had a faint inkling. The first time Yugito met Shimizu Uchiha, she had fallen under a Sharingan Genjutsu. Perhaps something had happened within that Genjutsu.
Kurenai Yuhi and Asuma Sarutobi, who were also participating in the battle on Konoha's side, watched the departing Shimizu in shock. Had he already grown powerful enough to face a Tailed Beast Jinchuriki all by himself? Kurenai's expression shifted unpredictably. By this logic, wasn't she just a clown? She thought she could catch up to Shimizu, but the distance between them was only growing wider. This realization made her expression look even more grim.
Ultimately, she shook her head. She couldn't look at it that way. Her current goal wasn't to challenge Shimizu at his peak, but to accumulate minor victories that would eventually build into an insurmountable advantage. The last time, she had been just a hair's breadth away from defeating Shimizu.
"Just a little bit more..." Kurenai clenched her fists, but the price she had paid for it had nearly become her permanent nightmare. If she didn't continue to challenge Shimizu, all of her immense investments would turn into nothing more than the reflection of the moon in a well.
"Kurenai, don't lose focus during battle!" Asuma Sarutobi barked. Using the special chakra blades in his hands, he sliced through a shuriken thrown at Kurenai by an enemy.
Perhaps due to their geographical environment, the shinobi living in Kumogakure generally possessed greater physical strength than those from other hidden villages. This also meant that Kumogakure shinobi excelled in Taijutsu, and a carelessly thrown kunai could easily take one's life if they grew negligent. A shinobi would die if struck in a vital spot!
Swish! Swish!
Kurenai snapped out of it, dodging several remaining shuriken in quick succession.
"Too weak," Kurenai thought, her heart completely unmoved. Compared to Shimizu Uchiha, these people were far too weak.
Subsequently, she threw herself entirely into the fray. She immobilized her enemies with Genjutsu and then decapitated them with a single strike. Her methods were bloody, as if she were venting some pent-up emotion, leaving Asuma dumbfounded. For some reason, Asuma felt that Kurenai's style of conducting herself was becoming increasingly similar to Shimizu's. That fellow Shimizu was precisely this brutal toward his enemies.
Suspended in mid-air, Samui felt the howling wind rushing past her ears. She could only squint, barely discerning the things in front of her. She gained a whole new understanding of Shimizu's speed. Whether on the ground or in the sky, Shimizu maintained an unparalleled advantage; such speed was simply not something an ordinary person could contend with.
Just as the ringing in Samui's ears was about to intensify, Shimizu's speed gradually slowed down, and he landed on a mountaintop. The moment her feet touched the ground, Samui looked at Shimizu vigilantly.
"Even if you capture me, I won't say a single thing." Samui declared that she would uphold the dignity of a Kumogakure shinobi and would never reveal a shred of intelligence.
"Whether you speak or not is not for you to decide." The three tomoe in Shimizu's eyes spun rapidly, and an invisible ocular power diffused outward. Sharingan Genjutsu!
Samui's eyes instantly turned hollow. A bizarre flush crept over her pale skin, and she even broke out into a sweat. With a thud, Samui collapsed to the ground, her body trembling uncontrollably, as if her muscles were convulsing out of control. Moreover, it was accompanied by the sizzling sound of a Suiton eruption echoing through the area. Water flowed around Samui, slowly forming a small circling stream, as if guarding her.
Shimizu squatted down and pinched Samui's chin. "When did Kumogakure begin colluding with Akatsuki?"
"I don't know. I only know that half a month ago, the higher-ups notified us to fight alongside these mercenaries." Samui's tone was ethereal, like a fleshless automaton.
Shimizu continued to extract intelligence regarding Kumogakure from her. Under his butterfly effect, it wouldn't be surprising no matter what Kumogakure did. He had to gather more information to keep these variables under control. As for Kumogakure hiring the Akatsuki organization, it was actually quite normal. Akatsuki only truly became universally hunted after they began capturing the Tailed Beasts of various nations, which instilled dread in the other hidden villages. The Five Great Nations collectively believed that Akatsuki could absolutely not be allowed to exist; if Akatsuki were to gain control of all the Tailed Beasts, there was no telling what kind of catastrophe would unfold.
Right now, Akatsuki was still just an ordinary organization. From a peace-seeking group in the Land of Rain, it had gradually evolved into a mercenary outfit, accepting mission orders from all over to earn rewards. In the original timeline, the Third Tsuchikage of Iwagakure, Onoki, had also hired Akatsuki to do his dirty work. This proved that the various nations harbored no psychological burden when it came to utilizing or hiring Akatsuki. Kumogakure thinking of employing Akatsuki also happened to coincide with Akatsuki's rapidly growing reputation during this period. Among the Three Great Dojutsu, the most mysterious Rinnegan carried immense hype.
"Next, I just have to wait for Yugito." Shimizu slammed his palm onto the ground, using Doton Ninjutsu to raise three walls before capping the top, creating a rudimentary windproof shelter.
His speed was considerably faster than Yugito's, so it would take her some time to catch up. This was intentional on Shimizu's part; he had fled to a distant location precisely to increase the travel time back and forth. Otherwise, by the time he finished up here, the battlefield over there would still be actively fighting.
"Before that, I can use this first..."
Shimizu looked down at Samui. The information he needed to confirm had already been verified. Now, he could play some games to pass the boring time. Shimizu adjusted his positioning, causing Samui's upper body to lean forward against him. And then... the familiar one-horned beast emerged.
Unlike before, this time the one-horned beast understood the power of human hearts. Caught within the warmth of her bosom, the one-horned beast experienced the beauty of the soul. Samui's consciousness was gradually awakened by the boisterous movements of the one-horned beast. She looked at Shimizu in terror, only to find that she couldn't move her body even a single fraction. It was as if she were bound to the spot, able only to numbly maintain her original posture.
"You're a bastard!" Samui reviled Shimizu. To think he would use her to do such things. Did a person like this even possess any sense of morality?
"Sometimes, we need to remain quiet." Electric arcs flickered at Shimizu's fingertips.
"Don't... Ahhhh..." An intense, sorrowful cry echoed weakly inside the crude earth shelter, accompanied by a squelching sound. Tears of pain streamed down Samui's face, her expression twisting slightly. All of this indicated that Samui's mastery of Suiton was still far from proficient. Merely utilizing a tiny bit of Suiton caused her own body to suffer such a burden.
As a master of Suiton himself, Shimizu naturally couldn't bear to watch a young girl ruin her path in Water Release. He considerately increased the intensity of the electric arcs slightly, allowing Samui to better comprehend why women were said to be made of water.
While Shimizu and Samui were busy with their "training," the late-arriving Yugito finally reached the foot of the mountain. Looking up at the moderately tall peak, Yugito let out a soft breath. Flying in a straight line was always much swifter than traveling on land. She couldn't fly, so she could only rush through the mountain forests. Along the way, the uneven terrain, dense woods, and thick underbrush caused her a great deal of trouble, dragging down her speed. After all, the Land of Fire was the nation richest in resources, boasting abundant vegetation. It was a far cry from the Land of Lightning, where towering peaks pierced the clouds, mist shrouded everything, and deafening thunder echoed constantly.
"Shimizu Uchiha landed right up there." Yugito calculated the distance in her mind; it would take her about two more minutes to arrive. However, she had already wasted quite a bit of time rushing over. Shimizu had likely already interrogated Samui, forcing Kumogakure's intelligence out of her.
"I hope I can still make it in time." Suppressing the unease in her heart, Yugito buried her head and scaled the mountain.
Two minutes later, at the summit of the mountain stood a small earth shelter. Yugito recognized at a glance that it was the product of a Ninjutsu. Building a house with Doton Ninjutsu generally involved mixing chakra into the soil and then controlling it. Such a method could also be applied to other mediums, such as the vast ocean or the lightning of the natural world. A shinobi's chakra was limited, and the power of their Ninjutsu was likewise restricted. By borrowing the grand forces of nature, one could achieve twice the result with half the effort.
"Wh-What are you doing to Samui?!" Yugito felt that the scene unfolding before her eyes was completely shattering her worldview. Was this some new form of corporal punishment introduced by Konoha? Had the Konoha shinobi truly gone so mad that they had completely discarded the bottom line of being a shinobi?
"Woo... Run, Lady Yugito! Run!" Samui squeezed out every ounce of her strength, turning her head to cry out for Yugito to escape quickly. Her tone had completely lost its shape due to the "torture."
Perhaps due to her excessive anxiety, her control over her Suiton Ninjutsu had completely faltered. The sun on the mountain was incredibly bright, and Samui could see the light refracting off of the fluids. Yugito subconsciously closed her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling slightly.
And then... Yugito was splashed right across the face. It was an embarrassing, unrefined display that made a complete fool of her in front of Yugito.
