Chapter 22 - Truly Unfair

"It's a one of a kind hybrid of mirrors and Cha—Hold on why am I telling you this!" Valya remembered herself. Did she just get brainwashed.

If he knew the kind of spell she used. Without a doubt, someone as powerful as he, could easily reverse it.

Najeer's eyes darkened, he had really hoped she would reveal more. He could already tell she wasn't going to tell any further. But he already knew more than he needed. The Gate was closed by a spell, spells could be reversed. That option was far more efficient than any link spell. It increased the odds of regaining access to Earth by fifty percent.

Najeer looked at the woman. The solution had walked itself to him.

A mirror spell was a rare spell, not many knew of its existence.

They were incredibly difficult to cast, and much more to break. With time, he could. Even if it was an ancient hybrid. But he doubted only a mirror spell could close a Gate. There had to be thousands more spells she didn't reveal. How she managed to find such spells would be as great a mystery as the spells itself. He was not entirely convinced that she was his enemy. But he could imagine how his army could get the Earth King's gender wrong. Most Qiras underestimated the Earthmen, Vero most likely the same. Even he failed to do enough research about the regent as he should have. At the time he didn't think the Earth King's identity to be important, no one would have thought the war would end like this. Najeer had never lost before, even in times of less preparation, he would never have expected his first fail to be Earth. And apparently it could be because of this woman here.

The thought of that terrified him. But using her as a mere link could actually be a waste of a good tool. But there was something odd about her. He had tried to study her but strangely he couldn't figure her out. It may not be obvious, but she was more calculating than she seemed to lead on.

Earth Queen, or not. She could be the key to solving the problem of the Gates. Or the one that created more.

He pondered what to do.

Break her.

Torture every single information out of her..

Imprison her.

Kill her...

He leaned close to her once again. Fingers intertwining in her hair.

Valhya stared back, fighting the iciness in his eyes. This time she would not look away.

"A human would add finely," He said. The second day of his engagement would begin in a few hours. "Are you interested in joining a new line of service, queen?"

"Heh?" Valyha could see darkness growing in his eyes.

Valyha narrowed her eyes. She didn't feel particularly easy about that. Kind of creepy. She narrowed her eyes to ease her blurry vision as he came close. Even through her bad sight, she could make. He was kind of ... Very pretty.

But there was an eerieness that made even her bones chill.

Usually she was the one doing the bone chilling.

For her to be affected by his aura. This very man must have done truly horrible evil deeds.

Far more evil than her.

"If you get the part, I'll let you live." Najeer leaned in close to her ears and whispered. "It is interesting for a human, your age to still be a virgin. Definitely more on the fae side, aren't you." His deep voice came out masculine yet sultry.

His spirit-sight could detect no trace of a shared bond in her.

Valyha's expression grew in pure shock, then confusion, before slowly morphing into pure raging anger.

Valyha parted her lips to speak but just before the words could escape, she felt her head getting lighter as everything slowly turned pitch black.

The last thing she saw was his shoes stepping away from her and turning to his men.

"She is not a Queen," Najeer simply said.

But his voice sounded hazy to Valyha.

"Disappointing," he glanced down at her momentarily. "Only a mad woman,"

Valyha gasped wanting to speak as the white haired demon openly denied her truth.

Next thing she knew everything went blank

Then appeared in some sort of strange ballroom with people dancing. In front of her was a throne and a man sitting on it.

She looked down to see blue fabric. Her clothes had changed too.

A man pointed his hands directly at her

Wait, she recognized him.

Lying, betraying bastard.

"Named..." He said.

Valyha was still in a daze, so she couldn't hear the rest of his words. She wondered how she got here. Glamour? It felt like only a second ago she was in that armory.

He had glamoured her mind.

Valyha blinked angered by the sheer invasion of her mind and the ringing in h

er ears.

But as she blinked and opened her eyes again everything went black.
