Roja looked at Lydia like she had three heads.
"Lydia, have you gone mad?! I thought you hated Charlotte? Why are you on her side now that Henry's forgotten her!" Roja exclaimed.
Lydia's brows furrowed. "Some things you'll never understand, Roja. The only reason Henry's alive right now is Charlotte. She saved his life. While I don't agree with her background, I at least have the decency to respect the person who saved my son."
"Lydia, you've really gone mad! Henry's a great man; he should be marrying someone of equal status, not Charlotte Johnson! What else will she bring him but shame and mockery from the other elites? Henry, and you included too, will be the brunt of all jokes!" Roja fumed. "Lydia, use your brain! If Henry marries Quella, it'll be a plus for both sides! Anyone in their right mind would not give my Quella up for Charlotte Johnson!"
Lydia laughed drily. "Shame and mockery it is then."
