Chapter 339 - Chapter 339

Michael grimaced, feeling several different energetic effects filling his body and mind.

His body had begun to move on its own, forming a large pillar of ice that crashed into the platform he had originally made with such force that the entire room shook, and the platform shattered apart instantly.

He was not just angry... He felt malicious and murderous intent, a violent storm of pure rage filling his body like a plague.

His eyes were stained with his own blood, showing only a red vision behind a blurred perception.

So when he seen the being in front of him, wearing the skin of the most respectful man he had ever met...

He had gone mad.

Even if he was consuming his life force to let his rage out on this damned monster.

He would make sure that this beast died slowly... If it was the last thing he did.

Another pillar.

Another pillar.

Each crashing into Leander like a rain of colossal swords made of the most potent ice known to mankind...

A roar left his throat as he continued to send monstrous figure of ice after monstrous figure ice into the man he had once called Headmaster.

Then...

Neveah dashed through the destruction, her Greatsword following behind, gripped so tightly in her hands that her entire arm had turned white from strain.

But the strength filling her body...

The rage filling her mind.

The man she watched die.

The teacher who had taken her in.

This was no fight.

This was an execution.

She ducked underneath a rotating magic circle that threatened her beheading, launching forward with insane precision, and reeling her blade back with killing intent.

The mimic grinned at her in Leander's frostbitten form, and several golden circles of light spun and spiraled straight at her.

'Durability...' She thought, putting all of her faith in the bard that had brought them back from the brink of death.

The circles instantly bit into her flesh like razors, slicing open several parts of her body as she refused to halt at all.

Her blade shot forward, the sharp edge descending down in the shape of a crescent right at the throat of Leander.

Then.

Time stopped.

Which made sense if she had thought about it logically.

Mimics are powerful creatures that can take the shape of anyone they choose.

Using their affinities as if it were natural to them...

'Time...'

Leander slowly stepped towards her, the glowing ring on his middle finger humming with a terrifying presence.

Then...

Gabriel shot forward like a rocket, piercing the back of Leander's throat with the fork of his blood-soaked trident.

Water siphoning around the blade as he pressed the bottom of his boots against Leander's lower back, gripping the trident with all of his might as water began to flood the mimic's throat.

"I'll kill you..." He growled into the ear of Leander, his face completely pale beneath the liter of blood that was flowing from the pores of his skin.

Michael crashed through one of the descending pillars of ice, shattering it with the strength of his human body, reaching for Leander's golden hair with his hand, gripping it as he soared past, summoning a wall of potent ice in front of his path, stopping himself with the crack of his legs as he began to pull at Leander's hair, attempting to rip the head off of the mimic.

In the singular unnatural eye of the mimic...

Was fear...

Unbridled fear...

As it realized that the stage for its death had already been set... The finale had been predetermined by that boy...

It grimaced feeling terrible strain in every part of its body from the several interconnecting forces trying to tear it apart.

It's eyes glanced at the fallen figure of the bard that was descending into the void as remnants of the shattered platform descending around him.

It grinned as the gilded silver eyepatch began to loosely fall from the eye of the human it had shifted into...

The power of the cosmos itself had revealed itself... Surprising the mimic at the potential of the body it had taken...

Power...

True power...

The world was shrouded in a golden light... Consuming everything around it, bringing everyone in the vicinity into the world within the mimic- No... Leander's domain had been opened for the first time in years...

The scales of time had been balanced once more within this ethereal world of the soul of Orion...

The sun had shined upon it once more...

The true battle...

Had begun...
